The names of items that have been removed, suspended, and cancelled in Nigeria have been made public by NAFDAC, the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control.
The goods are no longer allowed to be manufactured, imported, exported, distributed, advertised, sold, or used within Nigeria, according to a post made by NAFDAC on its website on Tuesday.
The product reportedly contains the following: Betopic Eye Drop, Efavirenz 600mg Tablets, Flagyl Suspension, Abacavir Sulfate/Lamivudine Dispersible Tablets 60mg/30mg, Aprovasc 150mg/5mg Tablets, ASAQ (Artesunate amodiaquine Winthrop) 100mg/270mg Tablets, and Artemether/Lumefantrine 40mg/240mg Tablets.
Other options include Invanz 1g injections, Invega (Paliperidone) 3mg extended release pills, and Iliadin Adult 0.05% Metered Nose Spray.
The NAFDAC states that a product’s certificate of registration is removed when the market authorization holder requests that the product’s use of the certificate of registration be ceased.
It further stated that the agency has the authority to suspend a product’s certificate of registration if the requirements for obtaining a NAFDAC registration license are no longer fulfilled.
Less than twenty-four hours have passed since NAFDAC unveiled a comprehensive national strategy and roadmap to remove industrially manufactured trans-fatty acids, or TFAs, from Nigeria’s food supply chain, according to reports.
