According to reports, Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis has reduced the price tag on Nigerian forward Victor Osimhen from €150 million to €120 million.

As a result, the reigning best striker in Serie A and the league’s top goalscorer in the 2022-2023 season may be more affordable to suitors.

Manchester United, who have been vying for Victor Osimhen’s signature for some time, will be very excited about this development.

Erik ten Hag, the club’s coach, has made signing a striker a priority this summer, and Osimhen is said to be on the club’s wishlist alongside Tottenham Hotspur’s Harry Kane.

Initially, De Laurentiis insisted that Osimhen was not for sale this summer, despite reports that the club was attempting to extend the 24-year-old striker’s contract. However, according to Man United News, De Laurentiis has reduced the price tag on Osimhen by €30 million, which could indicate that the Italian champions are willing to let him go this summer.

Victor Osimhen had an outstanding season with Napoli in the 2022-2023 season, appearing in 39 games across all competitions, scoring 31 goals and dishing out five assists.

Despite being instrumental in the squad winning their first Scudetto in three decades, Osimhen could leave this summer if Manchester United agrees to pay the asking price.

Other top clubs interested in the Nigeria international include Bayern Munich, PSG, Liverpool, Newcastle, Chelsea, and Real Madrid. However, market speculators believe Manchester United is more serious about signing him.
