This was said in a statement released on Saturday in Port Harcourt and signed by Pius Ughakpoteni, Director of Corporate Affairs for the NDDC.

The NDDC Executive Director of Finance and Administration, Major General Charles Airhiavbare (retd), the Executive Director of Projects, Mr. Charles Ogunmola, a specialist in partnerships named Dr. Uche Igwe, and numerous Directors from the NDDC were present in the company of the MD.

During the visit, Dr. Ogbuku emphasized the NDDC’s readiness to investigate cutting-edge funding options and acquire technical know-how for worthwhile initiatives.

In order to effectively address the developmental problems faced in the Niger Delta, he emphasized the Commission’s intention to use innovative approaches and best practices from throughout the world.

AFD’s country director in Nigeria, Mr. Xavier Muron, had earlier informed the NDDC delegation that his organization is a development partner that places a higher premium on funding initiatives and programs that address climate change mitigation.

Similar to this, the GIZ Country Director, Dr. Markus Wagner, stated that there were numerous opportunities for the NDDC to collaborate with the organization, including technical assistance, vocational training, aiding farmers in increasing production, and assistance with marketing their products on the expanding market for fresh commodities from Africa.

Dr. Ogbuku described the meetings—which included participants from both agencies—as productive.

“The discussions centered on ways to collaborate that would synergistically employ the skills and resources of all concerned groups,” Ogbuku continued.

“The collaborative activities focus on efficiently resolving the varied issues confronting the Niger Delta while accelerating sustainable development across key sectors.”

Mr. Ogunmola, Executive Director of Projects, provided more information on the various areas of cooperation under consideration.

“Our conversations covered a wide range of sectors, including programs for youth vocational training, sustainable agriculture and energy, the development of entrepreneurship, and environmental preservation,” he stated.
