New Year: Gov Idris calls for unity, peace, assures dividends of democracy in Kebbi

Kebbi State Governor, Nasir Idris, has urged residents of the state to embrace unity, peace and collective responsibility as they step into the year 2026.

The governor made the call in his New Year message to the people of the state, describing the period as a time for reflection on national and global developments and a renewed commitment to harmony and stability.
Idris enjoined residents to remain patriotic, peace-loving and law-abiding, stressing that national development begins with respect, tolerance and compassion among citizens.

He also called on the people to sustain prayers and collective efforts towards building a stronger, more prosperous and resilient Kebbi State, noting that meaningful development can only thrive in an atmosphere of peace and unity.
The governor assured residents that the 2026 Budget of Transformation and People’s Empowerment would deliver tangible improvements in their living standards through expanded income-generating opportunities, improved healthcare services, access to quality education and sustained infrastructural development across the state.

Reaffirming his administration’s commitment to the welfare and security of the people, Idris said the state government, in collaboration with the Federal Government, was intensifying efforts to tackle insecurity.
He expressed optimism that 2026 would usher in greater development, enhanced empowerment initiatives and improved service delivery, while calling on all stakeholders to support government efforts in making Kebbi a peaceful and prosperous state.
