The Presidential Fiscal Policy and Tax Reforms Committee and the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM) will host a virtual interactive session on “Impact of the New Tax Reform Laws on Nigerians in the Diaspora.”
According to Abike Dabiri-Erewa, Chairman/CEO of NiDCOM, the conversation demonstrates the Federal Government’s dedication to openness and inclusivity in the application of policies.
The meeting, which is set for Friday, October 10, 2025, at 4:00 p.m. (Nigeria Time), is to inform Nigerians who are living abroad on the ramifications of the recently passed tax legislation.
Additionally, it will offer an open forum for resolving ambiguities and clarifying matters pertaining to duties and compliance.
Additionally, Dabiri-Erewa clarified that Nigerians living abroad must be fully informed about the new tax structure and its possible effects on their economic endeavors since they are important contributors to the country’s development.
Experts from the Presidential Committee and related agencies will be present at the session to answer questions from participants and offer helpful advice.
It is recommended that all participants register in advance by scanning the event’s QR code or using *https://forms.gle/gnad3z5Wf7JjcamA8*.
Meanwhile, NIDCOM has congratulated Nigerian-American Captain Kelechi Ndukwe on his promotion to Commander of the U.S. Navy’s Rota, Spain-based Destroyer Squadron 60 and Task Force 65.
In a statement signed by Gabriel Odu of the Media, Public Relations, and Protocols unit, the commission made this information public.
Ndukwe will now be in charge of U.S. Navy destroyer operations in Europe, Africa, and the Mediterranean, according to the Commission, which made the announcement in Abuja on September 26, 2025.
Years of service and leadership in global naval operations are reflected in his current position.
In April 2021, Ndukwe made history by becoming the first Nigerian-American to command the USS Halsey (DDG-97), a guided-missile destroyer in the U.S. Navy.
It has been said that his journey from being the son of Nigerian immigrants to being a top-ranking member of the U.S. Navy is one of excellence, discipline, and determination.
According to the Commission, his promotion is a source of pride for Nigeria, the international naval community, and Nigerians residing overseas in addition to being a significant personal achievement.
It also guaranteed ongoing support for Nigerians living abroad who use their work and principles to change the world.
NIDCOM congratulated Commander Ndukwe once more and called his career an inspiration to Nigerians around the world.
