The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited’s (NNPCL) retail division has denied allegations that the price of petrol at the pump will likely rise.

According to THEWILL, independent oil marketers have warned that if the dollar continues to trade between N910 and N950 on the black market, gas prices at the pump could rise by another N680 to N720 per litre.

The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) issued a warning on Monday, threatening a complete statewide indefinite strike if the price of petrol continues to rise.

However, the retail division of the NNPCL asked customers to ignore rumours regarding any further increases in gas prices in a tweet issued on its official X (previously Twitter) profile on Monday night.

Dear valued consumers, we at NNPCL Retail appreciate your business and we do not plan to raise our PMS pump pricing, contrary to popular belief.

“Please visit our NNPCL retail stations nationwide to purchase the highest quality goods at the most competitive prices.”
