Following events that led to her failed marriage to Dr. Olakunle Churchill, the controversial Nollywood actress Tonto Dike has since granted interviews stating reasons the marriage didn’t work and how regrettably she feels marrying her estranged husband. She has since taken to her social media platforms to defend her claims and further address whoever antagonises her.
In reaction to this, the board of trustees of the Actors Guild of Nigeria, AGN, led by the Chairman Prince Ifeanyi Dike have issued out stern warnings to the actress regarding her misconduct as it contradicts the guiding principles of the association.

Mr. Ifeanyi however noted that Miss Tonto Dike exhibits bad behavior that will no longer be condoned and should realize that every marriage has its own issues as no one’s marriage is perfect.

He further added that issues like that are private and very unbecoming of her to portray the association in bad light since there are so many actors who have issues with their marriages without getting the public involved and her actions consequently dents the image of the industry.

“We are not interested in her private matters; rather we are concerned about her attitude which is rubbing off negatively on other actresses.

“Actions like this portray the industry as having unserious ladies. That is why men are scared of marrying actresses.

“Thank God that we have good examples in the industry. If she is looking for sensation, she should look for something else to use.

He stated clearly that the Board of Trustees is not happy with her and if she continued in this manner, it would require some sanctions as the association does not encourage bad behavior.
