A putative coalition of APC support organizations in Kebbi State was categorically rejected by the North West APC Youth League on Wednesday, calling it “unregistered, unrecognized, and lacking legitimacy” inside the party.
Speaking during a news conference in Kaduna, the league reaffirmed its unwavering support for Senator Abubakar Atiku Bagudu, Minister of Budget and Economic Planning, calling him an essential asset to the APC, the President, and the people of Kebbi State and the greater North West.
The league’s national coordinator, Comrade Aliyu Suleiman, claimed that the alliance lacks a basis in the party’s structure at all levels, including ward, local, state, and federal.
“This so-called coalition has no history of grassroots involvement, has never mobilized a voter, and has never contributed to party activities.” Its sole purpose, according to Suleiman, is to take use of Senator Bagudu’s standing for private benefit.
The group highlighted Bagudu’s record of bolstering APC infrastructure, promoting unity, and implementing policies that have revolutionized communities, praising his leadership as a unifying force in Kebbi State and throughout the North West.
Senator Bagudu has continuously placed a high priority on inclusive advancement, youth development, and governance. He is personable, dedicated, and motivated to promoting laws that enhance the lives of common people. The APC and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration greatly benefit from his experience and vision, according to Suleiman.
The coalition’s press statement was denounced by the youth league as an attempt to foment discord inside the party.
Suleiman continued, “These accusations show the desperation of political opportunists who aim to undermine the advancements made under Minister Bagudu’s leadership.”
The league emphasized that party unity is crucial for maintaining developmental gains and furthering the APC’s mission in Kebbi and the North West. In addition to defending the minister, the league urged APC members and supporters to stick together behind Governor Nasir Idris.
Under the direction of Senator Bagudu and other dedicated party leaders, the APC has accomplished important milestones in infrastructure, youth empowerment, and governance. Instead of getting sidetracked by baseless accusations, party members should concentrate on solidifying these accomplishments, he continued.
Senior representatives of the North West APC Youth League and political observers attended the press conference, which ended with a strong pledge to maintain party unity and guarantee that Bagudu will continue to play a crucial role in bolstering the APC, endorsing government policies, and advancing the welfare of people in Kebbi State, the North West, and beyond.
