The former Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF) and the Olu of Ilu-Abo in the Akure North council area of Ondo State, Oba Olu Falae, has been named the chairman of the National Executive Committee of the Pan Yoruba sociopolitical organization Afenifere.
After its monthly gathering at the home of its national head, Pa Reuben Fasoranti, in Akure, the group also voiced worries about insecurity and the need for national restructuring, among other problems facing the nation.
After the meeting, Jare Ajayi, the National Publicity Secretary, told the media that Falae was appointed by Fasoranti, the group’s national leader.

Ajayi reiterated that the organization’s goal with this appointment is to realign it.
“The selection of Oba Falae is meant to revitalize the organization in order to make sure that the House of Oduduwa is realigned to support the Yoruba mandate,” he said.

“Among other significant positions, the new Chairman, Oba Falae, was previously the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, or SGF. The discussion covered a range of issues facing the country at the moment.

We have concluded that restructuring is the most effective way to address the concerns after putting these issues through multiple thorough interrogations.

“Therefore, we are urging the National Assembly and the Federal Government, led by President Bola Tinubu, to immediately put the machinery in place to restructure the nation,” Ajayi said.

Speaking about his appointment, Falae thanked Fasoranti for selecting him and pledged to bring all the groups in Afenifere together.

With the help of Afenifere and the Yoruba nation, and with God’s grace, we will be able to unite all the other factions.

He declared, “I plan to do everything in my power to unite all Afenifere factions during Papa’s lifetime.”

Speaking as well, the group’s National Organising Secretary, Apagun Kole Omololu, promised that Falae, the recently appointed chairman, will bring the group back together.
