Benue State Governor Samuel Ortom has ruled out defecting to the All Progressives Congress, APC, after leaving office.

Ortom, on the other hand, has pledged to support and work for President-elect Bola Tinubu as a member of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.

On Wednesday’s Arise Television Morning Show, the governor stated that he would continue to ensure equity and justice in Nigeria.

Ortom stated that he worked for the election of a southern president because he desired equity and justice.

“That is not on my table; I’m in the PDP, and I worked for the Southern presidency, which Tinubu and Obi were a part of,” he says. Defecting is no longer an option for me.

“If Tinubu is sworn in, I will continue to pray for and support him.”

“I will remain the leader of the PDP in Benue State, but I will continue to work for equity and justice in Nigeria.”
