Osun Governor Adeleke vows to turn six towns into cities

Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke has promised to turn six towns in the state into cities that will result in the prosperity of the people.

Adeleke spoke yesterday in Ede, his hometown, after he was installed as Asiwaju of Ede Land by the Timi of Ede, Oba Munirudeen Lawal.

He described his installation as ‘a further call to service’.

“Very soon all big towns in Osun State will become cities, that is how we called it in America. Ife will become city, Ilesa will become city, Iwo will become city, Ikirun will become city, Ila will become city. I will carry the light of positive transformation from towns to villages and from cities to rural areas across our dear state,” the governor said.

Governors Babajide Sanwo-Olu (Lagos), Seyi Makinde (Oyo) and Dapo Abiodun (Ogun), witnessed the ceremony and extolled Adeleke’s virtue doggedness.

Makinde, who spoke for others, said: “Adeleke challenged me that he would compete with me with in infrastructure. When I came today, I have seen that work is ongoing in the state.
