Osun: Seven APC Governorship Aspirants Step Down After Meeting With Tinubu

Following their meeting with President Bola Tinubu on Wednesday, at least seven candidates running for governor of Osun State under the All Progressives Congress (APC) platform have resigned.

In the upcoming primary, they have all decided to back Bola Oyebamiji as the consensus candidate for governor.
Iyiola Omisore, one of the candidates, abstained from the meeting that President Tinubu had summoned at the Presidential Villa.

Earlier, Omisore had called his primary disqualification a joke.

Former Deputy Governor Benedict Olugboyega Alabi, Dotun Babayemi, Akin Ogunbiyi, Senator Babajide Omoworare, Kunle Adegoke, Babatunde Haketer Oralusi, and Mulikat Abiola Jimoh are among the candidates that resigned.
