PDP Leaders Meet Obasanjo, Say ‘Things Are Not Beyond Repair’

Olusegun Obasanjo, a former president of Nigeria, gave strategic advice to the National Working Committee (NWC) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), which is headed by Kabiru Tanimu Turaki, SAN.

Obasanjo provided advice and commended the current leadership’s attempts to stabilize and reposition the party during a consultative visit by the PDP NWC at the former president’s home in Abeokuta, Ogun State.
“Anybody who wants to belong to a political party must adhere strictly to its rules and regulations,” he said, praising all the actions performed by the NWC and encouraging them to be true to their goals and promote discipline in the Party.

“Repairs are still possible.” Fight on. “You’re doing great,” Obasanjo said, urging the team to carry on their work with tact and diligence.

He urged the NWC to make sure that the country’s interests always come first and emphasized the significance of a powerful, concentrated opposition in any democracy.

The former president underlined that all political players must play positive roles and prioritize the interests of the nation in order to address the present issues affecting the country.

 

He affirmed his willingness to offer advice as needed and offered the leadership his extensive knowledge and political insights.

Obasanjo emphasized that Nigeria cannot move anywhere positive with the Federal Government’s current course of action.
Kabiru Tanimu Turaki, the Party’s National Chairman, expressed sincere gratitude on behalf of the whole NWC in response to the former President’s words of encouragement.

“We greatly appreciate your unwavering support and insight, Sir,” Turaki remarked.

 

“As we diligently strive to reconstruct and unite our party, we shall rely on your excellent guidance and suggestions, which are always very beneficial. We came here expressly to draw on your expertise and gain from your priceless viewpoint on the future of the party and the status of our country.

Turaki gave the former president the assurance that the NWC, under his direction, is committed to upholding internal harmony, encouraging sincere reconciliation, and getting the party ready to live up to the expectations of all Nigerians.

The Chairman of the Board of Trustees (BOT), Senator Adolphus Wabara, former Plateau Governor Jonah Jang, former Niger State Governor Muazu Babangida Aliyu, PDP Candidate in Ekiti State Dr. Oluwole Oluyede, several National Working Committee members, and other notable Party leaders in the southwest and throughout the nation are all part of the National Working Committee’s entourage.

According to reports, the PDP NWC is anticipated to pay visits to other party officials in an attempt to fortify the party’s unity and settle political disagreements inside the PDP.
