The Kano State Chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has suspended former governor, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso and his supporters.

The party made this known in a letter dated April 16th and signed by its secretary, H.A Tsanyawa to the former Minister of Defence.

Kwankwaso and his followers were suspended for three months over their alleged role in the disruption of the party’s Northwest zonal convention on April 10.

The party accused the ex-governor of “thuggery”, disrupting the exercise.

Recall that the PDP’s Northwest concention at the Kaduna International Trade Fairground  was marred by violence with ballot boxes and chairs destroyed.

Kwankwaso’s candidate was one of the major contenders for the position of National Vice Chairman Northwest alongside Sen. Bello Hayatudeen Gwarzo and Aminu Wali.

And according to the letter, Kwankwaso ordered his followers to destroy electoral materials and abused two serving governors at the venue.

The former lawmaker was, however, given 48 hours to respond.
