Edward Percy Masha, a chieftain and candidate for the Kaduna State chairmanship of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the September 21, 2024, election, has vowed to wrest power from the APC in the 2027 governorship election in the state.
Speaking shortly after the inauguration of his campaign team in Kaduna, he lamented that the ruling party has brought untold hardship to the people since 2015, saying, “Kaduna State has become a battlefield of all kinds of insecurity, leaving the people with no breathing space to go about their normal lives and earn a living.”
Regarding the upcoming council elections on October 19, 2024, he said, “The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) will definitely reclaim its mandate because the state has fully embraced the party, and, God willing, the electorate will show their frustration with the current situation by coming out in their numbers to vote for the PDP candidates.”
With the support of the people, Masha assured that if voted into power, his team would leave no stone unturned in ensuring the victory of the party in all local government areas in the state.
According to him, “Our people are completely fed up with the challenges the APC government has brought to them. Insurgency, banditry, kidnapping, and other criminal activities have all become the order of the day in the state. It is indeed a great concern that the party is determined to address comprehensively to give the people a fresh start and showcase their potential in their struggle to make ends meet.”
During the council elections, he assured that the party would go from market to market, shop to shop, and house to house to promote their candidates and the benefits that await the people of the state if the PDP is elected into power.
He also assured that if elected as the state chairman of the party, he would ensure that all those who left the party for various reasons would return, pledging to run an inclusive party and give everyone a voice in its affairs to advance its progress.
