Peller Questions Lagos Government: ‘Where Am I Supposed to Get N36 Million?

According to reports, TikTok influencer Peller has been summoned to pay ₦36 million in income tax to the Lagos State Government.
Peller, who became well-known last year, reportedly disclosed this in a live broadcast alongside Peruzzi, a singer.

He claimed that the tax agency had presented him with this enormous tax bill, which he believes is out of proportion to his current income and recent pay increase.

Peruzzi interrupted the conversation, telling Peller that Nigerians are required by law to pay taxes. He also emphasized that his personal tax payments are higher than what Peller was required to pay.

In order to avoid legal issues, including potential jail time, the singer recommended Peller to pay the tax debt as soon as possible.

According to Taskforce, I owe ₦36 million in taxes. I have nothing at all. “I only gained attention last year,” he bemoaned.

“What is preventing you from paying your taxes? Are you aware that, as a Nigerian, you must pay taxes? Are you aware of my tax liability? It’s more than the tax bill they gave you, but I won’t say that here,” Peruzzi remarked.

However, Peller maintained that the tax demand was excessive and said that the government had never provided him with any assistance as a result of his TikTok activities.

He claimed that because he publicly flaunted his wealth and revealed his TikTok profits, the government singled him out.

Peruzzi recommended that Peller ask for more time to set up payment, but Peller insisted that social media, not local Nigerian sources, are the primary source of his revenue.
