Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s (LP) 2023 presidential candidate, has asserted that the internal turmoil inside the party and the PDP is the fault of the government.
In a seven-minute, sixteen-second video that went viral on the party’s WhatsApp network on Saturday, he made the assertion while addressing a group of youthful followers.

The former governor of Anambra State stated, “What is happening in the Labour Party and the PDP is caused by the government, quote me anywhere,” in response to a young person who seemed troubled by Obi’s apparent indifference to the LP’s crisis.

Obi further pledged to run on the Labour Party’s platform in the 2027 election.

“I will still continue to run in the Labour Party,” Obi declared in response to a question about the platform he planned to use to run in the 2027 elections. I belong to the Labour Party.
“We had a problem in our party before, in the past,” he continued. President Yar’Adua was in office. I went to him at that time, and he informed Prof. Maurice Iwu, the chairman of INEC, that I didn’t want any issues with any parties. We have no choice but to fix it.

But there are issues in all parties today, and the system is to blame for these intentional issues. If I get the chance, I would like to clean up some of these things.

“Parties will work very well because a system cannot function without strong opposition.”

Even while political parties pay agents to look out for their interests, voters ultimately have the final say over whether or not the people’s votes count, thus he urged Nigerians to take responsibility for making sure their votes count.

The LP standard bearer urged Nigerian voters and young people not to give up since those who stand to gain from the status quo will also oppose any constructive change.
