Poland, Ukraine, Georgia secure final Euro 2024 spots

The Euro 2024 lineup is now complete as Poland, Ukraine, and Georgia triumphed in intense play-off battles on Tuesday night.

The stage is now set for an electrifying UEFA Euro 2024 tournament, which kicks off in Munich, Germany, on June 14th and concludes with the final in Berlin on July 14th, 2024.

Poland emerged victorious over Wales in a penalty shootout after a goalless draw in regulation time and extra time.

The match reached its climax when Wales’ C. Mepham received a red card in the 120th minute, and Polish striker K. Piatek secured the winning penalty, sealing Poland’s place in Group D alongside Netherlands, Austria, and France.

Ukraine secured their spot in the tournament with a hard-fought 2-1 victory against Iceland.

After falling behind to an early goal from A. Gudmundsson, Ukraine rallied back with goals from V. Tsygankov and M. Mudryk in the second half.

This win earns Ukraine a place in Group E alongside Belgium, Slovakia, and Romania.

Meanwhile, Georgia made history by clinching their first-ever major tournament finals appearance.

In a tense showdown with Greece that ended goalless after extra time, Georgia triumphed 4-2 in the penalty shootout.

Nika Kvekveskiri’s decisive penalty sparked jubilation among Georgian fans, securing their spot in Group F alongside Turkey, Portugal, and the Czech Republic.
