THERE are indications that the Police have arrested the father of Chidinma Ojukwu, the prime suspect in the murder of Super TV CEO Usifo Ataga on Wednesday night.

The 21-year-old University of Lagos undergraduate was paraded yesterday and admitted to have committed the act.

A top police source who craved anonymity told PUNCH that Ojukwu was arrested alongside his daughter at his residence at 57 Akinwunmi Street, Alagomeji, Yaba.

The source said Ojukwu resisted his daughter’s arrest violently.

He is being detained at the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department, Panti, Yaba.

“He never believed that his daughter committed any crime until Thursday,” the source said.

The suspect’s parents do not live together, the source added.

Chidinma told the news media that she stabbed Ataga twice in the neck and once in the stomach after a fight broke out when she resisted another round of sex.

The 21-year-old subsequently withdrew N380,000 from the victim’s bank account with his ATM card, saying she wanted to pay her school fees.
