Police detain three for murder of Senator Yayi’s aide

Three male suspects have been unveiled by the Lagos State Police Command in relation to the robbery and murder of Adeniyi Sanni, a staff member of Senator Solomon Adeola, commonly known as Yayi.

Idowu Owohunwa, the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, announced the arrest on Monday during a press conference at the command’s headquarters in Ikeja, Lagos.

On August 5, Sanni was traveling to his home in Lagos when he was stopped by several people at a checkpoint in Ojodu Berger.

The three suspects who have been detained are Adedigba Segun, 26, of Ibadan, Oyo state, Lucky Idudu Michael, 33, and Fred Azeez Okuno, 43, both of Lagos.

“We have succeeded in apprehending the robbery and murder syndicate via rigorous intelligence and investigative actions that brought out the best in the capability of the Lagos Police Command. Three firearms, including the killer’s weapon, were found after the three suspects who were directly involved in the robbery and murder were apprehended, according to the Lagos CP.
