A 33-year-old Smart Meju has been killed by a yet-to-be-identified person in Agbor, Ika South Local Government Area of Delta State.

PUNCH Metro gathered that the deceased was murdered on Wednesday while his lifeless body was dumped on the road in Agbor town.

Narrating the ordeal, the father of the deceased, Mr Innocent Meju, told our correspondent that his son, Smart, left home at around 8:am to attend a graduation ceremony in one of the schools in the area but never returned.

He said, “My son left on Wednesday morning, dressed very well for a graduation in one of the schools in the town.

“We waited endlessly for Smart throughout that day, he didn’t return home, and the matter was reported to the police in Agbor for necessary action.

“My son was doing phone business in Asaba. Because of his quest for education, he returned home to prepare for his movement outside the country to pursue his education. It’s very unfortunate.

When contacted, the state Police Public Relations Officer, SP Bright Edafe, confirmed the incident, adding that three persons had been arrested in connection to the killing.

He said, “It is not clear that they were the ones who killed the boy, but it was discovered that the deceased was last seen with them, and based on that, they were arrested.

“Police are still investigating the matter to know who and how he was killed.”
