The Nigerian Police, on Thursday, launched an investigation into the alleged rape of Timi Dakolo’s wife, Busola by the Senior Pastor of Commonwealth Zion Assembly COZA, Biodun Fatoyinbo.

This followed the complaint submitted by Busola with the police.

And so, the Police has commenced an investigation into the allegation and will likely apprehend the pastor for further questioning today.

Busola had accused Pastor Biodun Fatoyinbo of raping her.

The celebrity photographer made this known in an interview with Chude Jideonwo on YNaija TV.

In the interview, Mrs Dakolo revealed that as a teenager in the Divine Delight Club, the precursor to COZA, she was groomed and raped by the pastor.

She said it happened while she was a 16-year-old secondary school student living with her parents in Ilorin, Kwara State.

Narrating an incident, she said: “Immediately I opened the door (of her house in Ilorin), he just pushed me, he didn’t say anything, he didn’t utter any word, he just pushed me to one of the chairs in my living room.

“I saw him, he was removing his belt, he just said: ‘keep quiet, do what I want you to do and you will be fine.’”

TheNigerian is one of the unique platforms helping to shape the global narrative about Nigeria and her citizens across the world. It's quite costly to maintain this brand of journalism, however.

Readers from around the world, like you, make TheNigerian's work possible. We need your support to deliver quality, investigative journalism – and to keep it open for everyone. At a time when factual, honest reporting is critical, your support is essential in protecting our editorial independence. Every contribution, however big or small, is so valuable for our future.

Our brand of professional citizens' journalism requires a contribution from members of the public, patronage and sponsorship to thrive. We rely on this financial support to be able to carry out our numerous obligations of training, running cost, production, printing and general services. We also embark on Corporate Social Responsibilities through educational programs on our TV, newspaper and blogs.
