Nyesom Wike, the most recent past governor of Rivers State, has been encouraged by the Ijaw National Congress Worldwide to reconcile with Governor Siminialayi Fubara in order to promote harmony and prosperity.
The group declared that it would always stand out for the truth and sound governance, voicing its displeasure with the political issues facing the state, especially those involving Fubara and his predecessor.
Newsmen in Akure, Ondo State, were given access to a statement that the group’s president, Prof. Benjamin Okaba, released on Sunday.
The group asked Wike not to topple the state’s current government and applauded the people of Rivers State for resisting the rumored plans to impeach Fubara.
According to the statement, “We fervently urge all political actors in Rivers State to fulfill their civic duties to their constituents and immediately abstain from any additional actions that could compromise the integrity of the governor’s office, institution, and persona on behalf of all Rivers people.”
Under the pretense of defending his “structure,” we especially implore Chief Nyesom Wike to turn back from inciting discord of any kind against the current administration. The political system he is referring to shouldn’t be combined with Governor Fubara’s government structure and treated as a single, submissive body.
