The Ministry of Interior has been handed marching orders by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to safeguard Nigeria’s borders.
The interior minister, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, made this revelation on Tuesday night during a speech on Politics Today on Channels Television.
According to reports, the president urged the ministry to come up with answers for Nigeria’s ongoing security issues.
“A secured border is a safe nation,” declared the minister. We now understand that, and we cannot go back on it. The president is adamant about it, and as the ministry of interior, he has given us the go-ahead to safeguard these borders. “I desire the security of these borders.”Naturally, technology must also play a role because, after all, this is 2023, not 2003.
“Thus, no matter what we say, the role of technology as a solution or to enhance delivery can be undermined.”

We examine the human intelligence component, which is crucial as people can only be safeguarded to the extent that they desire to be protected. That’s simply the reality. Our eyes were opened to witness the events in Afghanistan, Iraq, and Libya. It may be more challenging for you to overcome an insecure situation if individuals do not assist you or provide you with the human intelligence you require.
Technology is required as well. However, I wouldn’t want to reveal the technologies that we are examining to you.
