President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is set to begin a two-day official visit to Katsina State on Friday as part of his ongoing efforts to enhance security and promote local development.
A statement released on Thursday by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, revealed that the president will engage with key stakeholders in the state to directly assess the security challenges facing the region. Katsina, along with other states in Nigeria’s northwest, has struggled with persistent security issues, including banditry and rural violence.
The visit underscores President Tinubu’s commitment to tackling insecurity through dialogue, infrastructure development, and collaboration with state governments.
During his stay in Katsina, the president will inaugurate the new Katsina Agricultural Mechanized Centre, which aims to modernize farming and increase food production in the largely agrarian state. He will also commission a newly completed 24-kilometre dual carriageway built under the administration of Governor Dikko Umar Radda.
In addition to these official engagements, President Tinubu will attend the wedding ceremony of Governor Radda’s daughter, marking a personal highlight of the visit.
Following the conclusion of the two-day visit, President Tinubu is scheduled to return to Abuja.
