Ramadan: Man Slumps While Praying in Abuja Mosque, Passes Away in Hospital

Salihu Byezhe, 52, died tragically after falling during Subhi prayers in Gudaba village, which is located in the Kuje Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory.
According to reports gathered Friday morning, the event occurred on Thursday while Byezhe was attending early morning prayers at the village mosque.
According to Musa Dantani, a local resident, after eating Sahur, the pre-dawn meal practiced during Ramadan, Byezhe did his ablutions before going to the mosque for prayers.

During the prayer session, he collapsed unexpectedly, causing those present to take fast action, transporting him to a hospital in Kuje. Unfortunately, he was declared dead upon arrival, with medical officials attributing his death to excessive blood pressure.

“Prayers were in progress when he suddenly slumped, and some Muslims within the mosque hastily grabbed him and carried him to the hospital. He was still breathing on the way to the hospital, but he passed out before arrival,” Dantani told Daily Trust.

One of the deceased’s sons was in the mosque when the individual collapsed, and he later accompanied them to the hospital, where the attending physician certified the guy’s death.

According to reports, the deceased had high blood pressure, which increased during morning prayers.

According to Dantani, the deceased were buried about 10:12 a.m. on Thursday, in accordance with Islamic norms.
