The Civil Defense, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB) has declared that its hiring portal would be temporarily suspended.
The Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), Nigeria Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Nigeria Fire Service (NFS), and the Nigerian Correctional Service (NCS) are the paramilitary recruitment organizations that are the focus of the portal.
Only two days have passed since the portal for the four parastatals’ recruiting applications was made available.
The CDCFIB said in a statement released on Wednesday by AM Jubril, the board secretary, that the suspension is a part of an effort to maximize the system’s efficiency.
The portal will be accessible once more starting on Monday, July 21, he noted.
According to the statement, “this development will ensure that the portal accommodates the high volume of applications while guaranteeing a smooth, transparent, and fair recruitment process.”
“We value young Nigerians’ passion and desire to serve their nation through these important organizations, and we are dedicated to making sure that the hiring process is impartial and open.”
The board has now issued three service announcements since the application portal opened on July 14.

It first declared that “a new few updates is set to be added for your easy navigation, optimal performance and complete field entries” in response to user complaints over the site’s accessibility.
A few Nigerians have used social media to share their application-processing experiences.
“This Error 405, which keeps returning me to the home page after I enter my phone number and NIN, has been happening since 3:30 am, and I have to start anew. “What might be the issue?” A user from X inquired.
A few prospective candidates also expressed dissatisfaction about their inability to use the portal once the application was made available.
