According to Asue Ighodalo, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate for Edo State governor on September 21, 2024, the All Progressives Congress (APC) is trying to bribe his witnesses before the tribunal with ₦30 million.
The revelation was made by Ighodalo during Thursday’s PDP stakeholders’ meeting in Benin. But he thanked his witnesses for their tenacity and commitment to the cause, promising to “claim his mandate” by taking the case to the Supreme Court.
Though he felt the tribunal’s decision attempted to sabotage justice, the PDP chairman declared that he, his running mate Osarodion Ogie, and other party members in the state will continue the battle.
“This battle will be fought to the end,” he declared. Our fans came from far and wide to be here. Even after they were offered N30 million to persuade them, all of our witnesses remained unwavering. Thank you to everyone who stuck by the celebration.

“The jury’s decision was unfair. The matter will be taken to the Supreme Court after we have filed an appeal. God is just and we have faith that He will step in. Despite everything going on around us, we must continue to be resilient and focused.

Ighodalo pledged to follow in the footsteps of previous Governor Lucky Igbinedion’s footsteps whenever they regained the mandate.

We will continue the work that leaders like Lucky Igbinedion left off when we receive our mandate. Except for those who don’t want to work, everyone will be at ease after our eight years in government. God has been teaching us to be humble and to have strong morals. If we had been sworn in after the election, we would have appointed the incorrect individuals, which would have been a major error. “Once we take office, the party members’ loyalty will be rewarded,” he stated.
