The Sarkin Bwari, Alhaji Auwal Musa Ijakoro II, has paid glowing tributes to Nigerian Army under the leadership of Lieutenant General Tukur Buratai for the maintenance of peace and stability not just in the Federal Capital Territory but the nation at large.

Alhaji Ijakoro was speaking Thursday when he paid a courtesy call on the Chief of Army Staff at the Army Headquarters in Abuja.

He noted that the Bwari traditional council hosts all the most important military formations and barracks within the FCT which has led to the peace and stability enjoyed by all living within the council which has also facilitated an improved civil-military relation between the Army and the Council.

Responding, the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Tukur Buratai while thanking the traditional ruler for his visit expressed joy that there will be a lasting cordial relationship between the Army and the Bwari Traditional Council.

He said Bwari due to its strategic location is so important that the Army is soon to commence a housing project within the area for retiring officers who wish to remain in the FCT.

Gen Buratai noted that the Traditional Council and its people have proven to be very hospitable and peaceful urging them to continue with that spirit.

The high point of the event was conferment of the highest chieftaincy title of the “Birima of Bwari” a title borrowed from the Biu Emirate, the ancestral home of Gen Buratai.

In attendance were Principal Staff Officers at the Army Headquarters as well as chiefs from the Bwari Traditional Council.
