The joint security operatives comprising Nigeria Army, civil defence, Department of Security Services and vigilantes attached to Suru and Maiyama Local Government Areas, Kebbi State, on Tuesday, rescued two persons kidnapped by suspected bandits in the area.

Confirming the story to newsmen on Wednesday in Birnin Kebbi, state capital, the Director in Charge of Security Service, Cabinet Office, AbdulRahman Zagga, attributed the success recorded to the support of Idris in providing all the necessary tools to the security agencies in the state.

“The said operation was successful, we were able to follow the bandits from Giro forest to Boma and down to Zugu Liba forest where the victims were rescued,” he said.

The director further pointed out that the kidnappers could no longer withstand the security operation pressure, thereby, abandoning the kidnapped victims and running away.

He explained that the rescued victims were handed over to the Village Head and the Vigilante Chairman of Zugu Liba for them to be reunited with their families.

He called on people to support the security operatives with useful information that would assist the security to effectively discharge their duty of curtailing the challenges of insecurity in the state.
