The Senate has extended the deadline for implementing the 2022 budget’s capital plan from March 31 to June 30, 2023.
The extension came after President Muhammadu Buhari asked the Senate to change the deadline for implementing the capital portion of the 2022 Appropriations Act. Senator Ibrahim Gobir, the Senate Leader, made the motion during a plenary session (APC – Sokoto East).
For the purpose of reading the Bill a first, second, and third time, the Upper Chamber suspended the applicable standing rules.
