Senate Reaffirms Suspension of Senator Natasha

The Senate says Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, a Kogi Central legislator, would stay suspended until the Senate returns from recess in two months.

Yemi Adaramodu, spokesman for the red chamber of the National Assembly, announced this on Tuesday during an appearance on Channels Television’s Politics Today.

This came just a few hours after the Senate prevented the suspended legislator from resuming legislative responsibilities in Abuja.

“The Senate and the entire National Assembly have a role to play. We are lawmakers, not spectators who observe skits and content creation. The content was initially generated and is now degenerating into seasoned flicks.

“The Senator is still suspended, and it will remain so till the Senate resumes back from recess in two months,” according to him.

Senator Natasha was suspended in March 2025 for violating Senate rules during a seat arrangement dispute with Senate President Godswill Akpabio, whom she accused of sexual misconduct—a charge Akpabio rejected.

The legislator attempted to resume Senate sessions on Tuesday, July 22, 2025, but was unsuccessful.
