Former Military President General Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida (retd.) has received congratulations on his 84th birthday from Senator Orji Uzor Kalu, the Senate Committee on South East Development Commission (SEDC) Chairman and former governor of Abia State.
Kalu characterized the former Head of State as a political father and mentor who influenced his political path in a statement released on Sunday.
He emphasized that Babangida’s contributions to peace, stability, and national integration will always be remembered and praised his leadership style, bravery, and vision for a united Nigeria.
“General Babangida is a unique leader who has inspired me and many others in the political arena with his depth of knowledge and fatherly leadership. Kalu stated, “He stands out as a statesman of inestimable value because of his unwavering belief in the unity of our great country, Nigeria, and his ability to nurture younger leaders.”
In addition, the Senate Chief Whip prayed for the elder statesman, who was born in Minna, wishing him good health, tranquility, and many more years of meaningful service.
“I pray that God continues to grant him good health, peace of mind, and many more years of fruitful service to humanity on this special occasion of his 84th birthday,” he continued.
Kalu described Babangida as a beacon of optimism, resiliency, and national pride and urged Nigerians from all political and ethnic backgrounds to continue to benefit from his wealth of knowledge.
