The Benue State Police Command has arrested six suspects for various crimes, TheNigerian Metro gathered on Tuesday.
The Commissioner of Police, Hassan Yabanet, stated this during a press briefing at the state headquarters in Makurdi, the state capital.
According to the police boss, three people were arrested for allegedly manufacturing arms in Kwande and Guma Local Government Areas of the state.
He added that the other three suspects were arrested for robbery incidents in Kwande and Makurdi LGAs.
Yabanet said, “On 11/1/2025 at about 1430hrs, police stormed the said factory at Mbaafa and arrested one Friday Aduduakamve and Iorwashima Iornyume AKA “AK-35” all ‘m’ of the same address.
The police boss said nine fabricated pistols, one yet-to-be-completed AK-47 rifle, two gas cylinders, one filing machine, four other machines and many other tools for fabricating rifles were recovered.
Other items recovered were six Dane guns and three long pipes which he said were used for fabricating guns.
“He is calling on the good people of Rivers State to provide credible information that could lead to the arrest of the fleeing perpetrators of this act.”
