Six people died in Ogbogbo, Ijebu-North East, Ogun State, after drinking alcohol from a friend.
The incident happened on Tuesday at a bar where the seven friends were partying.
According to a source, all six people who drank the alcohol died except the seventh, who brought it from home.
The deceased and suspect had a heated argument before the incident, which was resolved.
The source said the suspect then offered a bottle of alcohol to reconcile.
He went home and brought the drink, which the six friends drank except him.
Two friends died and four were hospitalized a few hours after they left.
The suspect fled town while the other four died the next day, according to the source.
“Six people have died since we spoke. “The alcohol’s bringer’s whereabouts are unknown,” he added.
State Police Public Relations Officer Omolola Odutola confirmed the incident.
Odutola did not disclose the number of victims.
“I confirmed something like that occurred but the families said they were not pressing charges and preferred to bury their dead,” she said.
