Sunday Igboho’s house set ablaze in Oyo
The residence of popular Yoruba freedom fighter, Sunday Adeyemo better known as ‘Sunday Igboho’, has been set ablaze by unknown arsonists.
The residence, located at Soka in Oluyole Local Government of Oyo State, is said to be where the freedom fighter used to live before moving to his current house.
Though unconfirmed reports have been alleging aggrieved herdsmen to be responsible for the act, nobody has been able to substantiate the allegation.
Narrating how the incident happened, some people living in the neighborhood said the arsonists took advantage of a momentary blackout witnessed in the area to perpetrate the act.
Igboho has been in the vanguard of the agitation for the eviction of Fulani herdsmen from Ibarapaland and Oyo State in general.
There are even reports that he vowed to take the agitation to all the states in the South West region of the country.
Sunday Igboho visited Igangan in Ibarapa North Local Government of Oyo State on Friday to enforce the seven-day ultimatum given to Fulani herdsmen vacate the community.
Many houses belonging to the Seriki Fulani of the community, Alhaji Saliu Abdulkadir were, however, allegedly set on fire by aggrieved youth in the community in the wake of Igboho’s visit.
