The Super Eagles won their pre-Africa Cup of Nations practice match on Friday, with captain Ahmed Musa one of the scorers.

The three-time African champions defeated Cameroon’s top flight title holders Coton Sport 2-0 in Garoua, where they will play their Group D fixtures.

Musa struck in the first half while substitute Samuel Chukwueze sealed the win in the second half.

Super Eagles interim head coach Austin Eguavoen fielded a starting line-up that could face Egypt in their opening game on Tuesday.

Maduka Okoye started in goal, with Ola Aina, Zaidu Sanusi, William Troost-Ekong and Kenneth Omeruo making up the back four.

Joe Aribo and Wilfred Ndidi operated from the base of midfield behind Kelechi Iheanacho, Chidera Ejuke and Ahmed Musa, while Taiwo Awoniyi was the target man in what could be a 4-2-3-1 formation.

After giving the Super Eagles the lead, Musa made way for Alex Iwobi in the first half.

Everton star Iwobi and Sanusi were the only players retained from the first half after the break.

Francis Uzoho started the second half in goal, with Sanusi, Olisa Ndah, Semi Ajayi and Chidozie Awaziem in defence.

The second half midfield was made up of Frank Onyeka and Kelechi Nwakali, while Iwobi, Chukwueze, Simon Moses and Sadiq Umar formed the front four.

Henry Onyekuru later replaced Iwobi, while Peter Olayinka came on for Umar.

Only goalkeepers John Noble and Daniel Akpeyi were not involved as all the outfield players with the squad in Cameroon had a taste of the action.
The Super Eagles will play Sudan and Guinea-Bissau after their encounter with Egypt as they seek a spot in the round of 16.
