In November, the Nigerian Super Eagles will play two international friendlies against Colombia and Venezuela.
The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) declared in a statement on Monday that both matches would take place in the United States.
On November 14, the Eagles will play Venezuela at Shell Stadium in Houston, Texas. Kickoff is scheduled for 2 a.m. Nigerian time.
Additionally, on November 18 at 1:00 am Nigerian time, the team will play Colombia at Citi Field Stadium in Flushing Meadows, a borough of Queens, New York.
Colombia has earned a spot at the FIFA World Cup in the United States in 2026. But Venezuela was two points short of the goal.
In their quest for one of Africa’s nine automatic World Cup tickets, Nigeria is likewise facing difficulties.
With two games remaining, the Eagles are six points behind the leaders, South Africa, in third place in Group C of the qualifications. The squad is about to miss out on qualifying for two World Cups in a row.
However, because South Africa fielded an ineligible player in one of their qualification matches, FIFA has started disciplinary action against them. Bafana Bafana could lose three points in the World Cup race as a result of the penalty.
