The Visa Waiver Program (VWP) is a unique agreement that allows citizens of 43 nations to enter the United States for up to 90 days without a visa.
In order to travel, these citizens must, however, fulfill specific requirements and receive authorization via the Electronic System for Travel Authorization (ESTA).
The VWP uses the ESTA online system, which is run by US Customs and Border Protection, to assess a person’s eligibility for visa-free travel. It is crucial to remember that travelers must apply for ESTA in advance and that their stay cannot be longer than 90 days.
However, Nigeria is not on the list of nations.

The VWP can be utilized for both business and tourism.

The US government further said that residents of a VWP nation will not be eligible for ESTA if

By March 1, 2011, you have traveled to or been in North Korea, Iran, Iraq, Libya, Somalia, Sudan, Syria, or Yemen.

1. You traveled to Cuba or were there on or after January 12, 2021.

2. You have two nationalities: Syria, Iraq, Iran, North Korea, Cuba, or Sudan.

3. Rather than using the VWP, you must apply for a regular B-1/B-2 visitor visa if any of the aforementioned situations apply to you.
