Mr. Peter Obi, a former presidential candidate for the Labour Party, has denounced the alleged kidnapping of more than 150 worshippers from churches in Kaduna State, claiming that such an atrocity would have provoked swift national action in a serious nation.

In a message released on his X handle on Wednesday, Obi questioned the veracity of those who first disputed the incident and warned to punish anyone who were suspected of disseminating false information.

“Now that it has been established that more than 150 worshippers were abducted from churches in Kaduna, where and how did those who initially denied the incident obtain their information?” It was Obi.

In addition, he asked who would be held responsible after the kidnappings were confirmed.

He emphasizes that leadership transcends the pursuit of power and that the scope of the incident necessitates transparent leadership, clear communication, and an immediate national response.

“In any serious country, this would trigger decisive national action, clear communication, and visible leadership,” Obi stated, noting that effective leadership necessitates speaking up when citizens are suffering and taking prompt action when lives are at danger.

He urged authorities to take more serious action against Nigeria’s ongoing insecurity while calling for quick action to ensure the safe and undamaged release of all victims. “It’s enough,” Obi said.
