This was contained in a statement issued on Sunday in Abuja by the Director of Public Relations and Information, NAF, Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame.
The operation, which was carried out on May 1, was conducted under the Air Component of Operation Fansan Yamma, to a location within the Dan-Aji Forest in Faskari Local Government Area, Ejodame said.
The target, he said, is a known logistics hub connected to a terrorist kingpin, Abasu Aiki and his fighters operating across the Faskari, Kankara and Funtua axis.
“Intelligence reports indicated the revival of terrorist activities in the area and that led to the strike.”
“NAF air assets identified armed terrorists on motorcycles and other fighters within the enclave and simultaneously struck the location.
“The battle damage assessment confirmed several terrorists were neutralised and the logistics hub and associated structures were destroyed,” he said.
Ejodame said the strike caused explosions and widespread fires that further degraded the group’s operational capacity.
He said the operation had badly disrupted terrorist movement and re-supply in the area.
He said the development underscores the NAF’s determination to deny terrorists safe havens and disrupt their operational networks.
However, four people have reportedly been killed in a fresh attack on Aila Odugheho in Agatu Local Government Area of Benue State by suspected armed herders.
The incident occurred Sunday morning while the victims were walking along the Aila Odugheho road to a nearby village, a local source said.
“The suspected herders ambushed the victims on their way to the community,” a resident who gave his name as Danny Uloko told journalists in a telephone interview.
The Fulani herders ambushed and killed the victims while they were on their way to a nearby community along Aila Odugheho road, Uloko added.
The names of the deceased, he said, were Ochefije Elijah Ojema, Igojuju Husaini, Odiya Ochowehi and Ochoyoda Adejo.
The Chairman of Agatu Local Government Area, Melvin Ejeh, confirmed the attack, saying four people were killed.
Ejeh said armed herders have resorted to ambush tactics because security operatives are in the area and it has become difficult for them to invade some of the communities.
“The incident did take place today (Sunday morning), it is true. We lost four of our people.
“The security strategies we have put in place in the communities are robust now, making it difficult to attack and overrun any community in Agatu Local Government Area.
“So they have gone for ambush which is more difficult to deal with. However, operations to clear the community forest of bandits are ongoing,” he said.
Ejeh also said that security agencies including the Divisional Police Officer and local vigilantes were already in the area carrying out clearance operations.
When contacted, the state Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Udeme Edet, said she had not received any report, adding that efforts to reach the Agatu Divisional Police Officer had been unsuccessful.
“I have not been able to get the DPO of Agatu on phone, so I’m yet to get the report,” she said.

The Air Force said that the strike took place on April 27, 2026, as part of Operation Hadin Kai, which is an ongoing effort to fight terrorism.

Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, the Director of Public Relations and Information, said in a statement that the operation was based on reliable intelligence and reports from surveillance.

He said that air assets were sent in after they found several terrorist bases and supply depots in the area.

Ejodame said that the operation was carried out perfectly, hitting important insurgent infrastructure.

He said, “NAF air assets carried out a coordinated operation that found several terrorist structures and logistics hubs that were actively supporting insurgent activities in the area.”

He said that the strike successfully destroyed important facilities that the insurgents used, making it much harder for them to carry out their operations.

The Air Force stressed that the mission followed all rules of engagement and made sure to protect civilians and the environment.

He also said that the Air Component of Operation Hadin Kai used precise targeting to get rid of hostile elements while causing as little damage as possible.

The Mandara Mountains, which are in Adamawa and Borno states and go into Cameroon, have long been known as a safe place for insurgent groups.

The NAF said that the most recent operation shows how committed it is to keeping terrorists from moving freely and making security efforts in the region stronger.

The military said again that it would keep up offensive operations to weaken the insurgents and protect national security.

Many others were hurt.

Reports say that the event happened on Saturday at Jilli Market, which is between the Gubio Local Government Area of Borno State and the Geidam Local Government Area of Yobe State.

People who talked to Daily Trust said that the market, which draws traders from nearby towns, was full of buyers and sellers when the airstrike happened.

The weekly market is usually open for people from Gubio, Chiweram, and Benisheikh in Borno State, as well as Gurokayeya and Geidam in Yobe State.

Local sources said that the operation was thought to be part of a military offensive against suspected Boko Haram insurgents who were said to be going to the market to collect taxes and get supplies.

But reports say that the airstrike missed its target.

An eyewitness said that the strike happened in the afternoon while people were working.

“The event took place at about 2:46 p.m., while business was still going on. Four fighter jets attacked, but the fourth jet was hard to see. The witness said, “We only heard explosions.”Study abroad consultation: “I counted 56 dead bodies and helped save two injured people by taking them to the hospital.” The source also said, “I think the number of deaths may be higher because more bodies are still being found.”

Malam Lawan Zanna, the councilor for Fichimaram Ward, confirmed the event and said that several injured people were taken to the Specialist Hospital in Geidam.

“The event happened at the weekly market in Jilli village in the Geidam LGA’s Fichimaram Ward. He said, “Based on what we know, it was an airstrike.”

“When the jets attacked, people freaked out and started to run, but the strikes kept going.” More than 30 people have died as we speak.

He went on to say that more than 20 people who were hurt were taken to the hospital, and some of the victims were sent to the Teaching Hospital in Damaturu.

“In Geidam, more than 20 people were sent to the hospital. The Teaching Hospital in Damaturu got two of them. “Nine of the people who were getting treatment have died, bringing the total number of deaths to more than 30,” he said.

What the Yobe Government Says
Brigadier General Abdulsalam Dahiru (retd.), the Yobe State Governor’s Special Adviser on Security Matters, confirmed the attack but said it happened in Borno State.

“I talked to the chairman of Geidam Local Government, and he told me that Jilli village is part of Gubio LGA in Borno State.” He said, “You can get more information by calling officials in Maiduguri.”

At the time this report was written, the Nigerian Air Force had not yet made an official statement about the incident.

He emphasized that intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance missions enforced the April strike, which was based on reliable intelligence.

He claimed that this verified the terrorists’ gathering and ongoing violent actions inside the enclave.

Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, NAF’s Director of Public Relations and Information, said in a statement that the operation highlights the force’s ongoing offensive mission to destroy terrorist strongholds and limit terrorists’ freedom of movement throughout the theater.

Several terrorists were seen moving around the settlement’s buildings and hiding places throughout the mission.

After identifying and confirming the target, NAF air assets executed a series of strike passes, accurately hitting targets.

He disclosed that the shelling severely damaged the enclave and reduced its operational efficacy by destroying important buildings, logistical centers, and numerous fighters.

Additionally, the attack hindered terrorist movement and made it easier for ground forces to approach, take advantage of the impact, and maintain coordinated clearance operations.

Both jets and parts of ISWAP’s command and support organization are thought to have suffered significant damage as a result of the mission.

The accomplishment demonstrates the increasing cooperation between air and ground forces throughout Operation Hadin Kai, supporting continuous attempts to deny terrorists a place to hide.

“The Nigerian Air Force will continue to deliver precise, intelligence-driven strikes in close coordination with surface forces until every terrorist enclave is dismantled and lasting security is restored,” said Air Marshal Sunday Kelvin Aneke, Chief of the Air Staff, regarding the ongoing operational momentum.

Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, Director of Public Relations and Information, Headquarters, Nigerian Air Force, said in a statement that the operations were carried out across the North-East and North-West through the joint task forces of Operations HADIN KAI and FASAN YAMMA SECTOR 2.
According to the statement, “Acting on actionable intelligence on terrorist intent, movement, and logistics, NAF air assets were decisively employed to strike identified hideouts, movement routes, and assembly areas.”

It further stated that successive precision strikes in the North-East theatre were carried out against deeply concealed terrorist enclaves at Abirma and Chiralia within the Timbuktu Triangle.
The strikes destroyed targeted structures, with multiple secondary explosions observed, a clear indicator of the elimination of explosive stockpiles and critical logistics.

“Follow-on interdiction operations at Guva in the Mandara Mountains further dismantled terrorist storage and coordination nodes, severely degrading their ability to regroup, resupply, or mount attacks during the festive period and beyond,” the statement added.
The campaign was simultaneously extended into the North-West with a decisive air interdiction mission around Karaduwa Giginya Na in Matazu Local Government Area of Katsina State, tracking terrorist movement on large motorcycle convoys and engaging them at a forested convergence point, the statement said.

The Director of Public Relations and Information, NAF, Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, said in a statement on Monday that the airstrikes were conducted on Sunday based on credible multi-source intelligence.

Ejodame explained that the strikes targeted key bandit enclaves linked to recent attacks in the North-West, with NAF air assets deployed to degrade the criminal elements’ combat capabilities and deny them safe havens.

According to him, the first strike at Turba Hill, a confirmed bandit hideout, destroyed a zinc-roofed structure central to the enclave’s operations.

“Post-strike assessment confirmed the total destruction of the target and the neutralisation of several bandits.

“The second mission hit Kachalla Dogo Sule’s Camp, a notorious IED manufacturing and operational hub linked to recent attacks along the Dan Sadau–Magami axis. Multiple active structures were engaged, triggering intense fires that destroyed the facilities and neutralised several bandits, crippling the group’s IED production and deployment capacity,” he said.

Ejodame added that the strikes dealt a significant blow to bandit networks in Zamfara, particularly their ability to manufacture and deploy improvised explosive devices.

He said the operations reaffirm the NAF’s commitment, in coordination with other components of Operation FANSAN YAMMA, to deny criminal elements freedom of action and support joint efforts to restore peace and security across the North-West and the nation.

Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, Director of Public Relations and Information, Headquarters, Nigerian Air Force, said in a statement that the armed bandits met their Waterloo following credible, multi-source intelligence at Turba Hill and Kachalla Dogo Sule’s Camp, both in Tsafe Local Government Area of Zamfara State.
The statement said the first strike targeted Turba Hill, a confirmed bandit hideout, adding that persistent intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance revealed significant human activity and an operational zinc-roofed structure assessed to be central to the enclave’s activities.

Post-strike battle damage assessment confirmed the complete destruction of the structure and the neutralization of several bandits.
“The second AI mission was conducted at Kachalla Dogo Sule’s Camp, a notorious bandit stronghold identified as a key IED manufacturing and operational hub. Intelligence had linked the camp to the planning and execution of recent IED attacks along the Dan Sadau–Magami axis,” the statement said.

It added that the precision strike successfully engaged multiple active structures within the enclave, triggering intense fires that destroyed the facilities and neutralized several bandits, effectively crippling the group’s IED production and deployment capability.
The operations, according to the statement, reaffirm the Nigerian Air Force’s unwavering commitment, working in close coordination with other components of Operation FANSAN YAMMA, to deny criminal elements safe havens, degrade their combat effectiveness, and support ongoing joint efforts to restore lasting peace and security across the North-West and the nation at large.

The Nigerian Air Force said it has killed several terrorists in torrents of airstrikes on their fortified hideouts in Chiralia, Grazah, Yuwe, and Zango Hill, in Borno and Katsina states.

This was contained in a statement by the Deputy Director, Public Relations and Information, NAF, Group Capt. Kabiru Ali, on Friday in Abuja, according to the News Agency of Nigeria.

Ali said the series of decisive and precision-guided air interdiction missions conducted between March 17 and March 19, also crippled the operational networks of the terrorists across the North-East and North-West regions.

He added that the air component of Operation Hadin Kai had on March 17, launched a devastating airstrike on Chiralia, a notorious terrorist enclave within the Timbuktu Triangle.

<amp-video-iframe src="https://360playvid.info/slidepleer/videoIframe.html?fn=s1184s" width="16" height="9" layout="responsive" dock="#pv-dock-slot" style=" overflow: visible !important;"> </amp-video-iframe>

According to him, intelligence reports revealed that the insurgents had orchestrated violent raids along the Maiduguri-Damaturu and Damaturu-Biu highways, abducted civilians and plundered supplies.

“In response, a formidable force package of NAF attack aircraft unleashed a precise and overwhelming assault, obliterating multiple enemy structures and eliminating terrorists desperately attempting to escape with follow-up strikes.

“The following day, the NAF launched a devastating air interdiction operation at Grazah, a well-fortified terrorist hideout in the treacherous Mandara Mountains, and at Yuwe, a notorious insurgent stronghold in Sambisa Forest.

“At Grazah, intelligence reports exposed extremist leaders indoctrinating fighters, reinforcing the urgency of the strike.

“In a ferocious assault, NAF fighter jets unleashed a relentless barrage of precision strikes on key targets advancing purposeful lethality. Follow-up strikes intensified the offensive, obliterating fleeing terrorists at both locations and delivering a crushing blow to their operational networks,” Ali said.

In the North-West, Ali further disclosed that the NAF executed a relentless aerial assault in Zango Hill, Kankara Local Government Area of Katsina, in close coordination with ground forces.

He said the ISR missions uncovered armed bandits entrenched in the rugged high ground, triggering the swift deployment of NAF attack aircraft.

According to him, the precision strikes pounded enemy positions, while follow-up bombardments targeted regrouping fighters attempting to evade destruction.

According to him, the recent NAF airstrikes have significantly disrupted terrorist activities across multiple regions.

“Intelligence assessments indicate that the strikes, not only neutralised several high-value targets but also destroyed critical infrastructure used by the terrorists for logistics and coordination,” he added.

The Nigerian Air Force has said a precision airstrike against Boko Haram enclaves in Chikide and Degbewa in Borno State has inflicted heavy losses on the terrorist group.

Acting on credible intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance reports, the NAF said it targeted key insurgent hideouts within the rugged Mandara Mountains, where notorious terrorist leader Ali Ngulde and his fighters were believed to be meeting.

A statement on Tuesday by the Deputy Director of Public Relations and Information, Group Captain Kabiru Ali, said surveillance confirmed the presence of a fortified command hub with solar-powered installations, prompting the service to execute a surprise night attack.

The statement read, “In a bold demonstration of air power and precision night warfare capabilities, the NAF executed a devastating nocturnal airstrike against terrorist hideouts in Chikide and Degbewa on 16 March 2025.

“The night operation targeted insurgent enclaves deep within the treacherous Mandara Mountains, delivering a crippling blow to the terrorists’ stronghold and disrupting their activities.
Acting on credible Intelligence, ISR data, reports indicated that the notorious terrorist leader, Ali Ngulde, and his fighters had planned a high-level engagement at the location.

“ISR missions over the area confirmed terrorist activity at a key assembly point in Degbewa, alongside the presence of heavily fortified structures equipped with solar-powered installations – clear evidence of an active command hub. Following this intelligence, the NAF immediately launched a precision night strike under the cover of darkness, achieving complete surprise.”

Ali said the operation destroyed key logistics and command structures, igniting large fires and neutralising scores of terrorists.

“The successful execution of this night operation underscores the NAF’s growing dominance in both day and night air power capabilities, proving that insurgents can no longer operate under the cover of darkness.

“Through relentless precision strikes and sustained air operations, the NAF remains committed to utilising its formidable air power to neutralise terrorist networks and restore lasting peace to the region,” Ali added.

Within the Faskari Local Government Area, in the Ruwan Godiya Ward of Unguwar Goga Hillforest, the targeted strike occurred early on Thursday.
Particularly targeted were the camps of two infamous bandit commanders, Gero (Alhaji) and Alhaji Riga. The operation was carried out by the Air Component of Operation Fansan Yamma.

The Nigerian Air Force’s Deputy Director of Public Relations and Information, Group Captain Kabiru Ali, acknowledged the mission’s success in a statement released Friday evening, emphasizing the substantial number of losses the criminals suffered.
The statement stated: “The Air Component of Operation Fansan Yamma carried out a precision airstrike in the early hours of March 13, 2025, decimating notorious bandit hideouts in Unguwar Goga Hillforest, Ruwan Godiya Ward, Faskari Local Government Area, dealing a devastating blow to banditry in Katsina State.”

“The airstrikes, which came before meticulous and actionable intelligence advancing purposeful lethality, killed over 20 criminals and destroyed the fortified camps of infamous bandit kingpins Gero (Alhaji) and Alhaji Riga. Additional casualties were reported in the nearby rocky hills.”

The criminals were significantly impacted by the airstrike, and the entire extent of the destruction is still being assessed.

Ali emphasized how Gero and Riga were essential to the region’s banditry, providing safe havens for criminal organizations that carried out lethal ambushes along the Funtua-Gusau Road, especially in the area between Yankara and Sheme villages.

His removal, he added, is a major milestone in the military’s continuous efforts to bring peace and stability back to the North-West.
