He made the claim on Arise Television on Tuesday.

Oborevwori stated that they had earlier seen Omo-Agege exit, adding that he never consulted anyone.

Omo-Agege had recently left the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) after losing the senatorial primary election.

Reacting, the governor said: “We knew about his exit, and that was why he was not serious in the context of the primaries, because he never consulted anybody, he never consulted me, he never called leaders.

“APC is a big party, so his exit is not a threat to us.

“President Bola Tinubu is my biggest project and we of Delta are solidly behind him. The delta people have been deceived before, but not anymore.

“I can categorically tell you that no Delta person will vote against Tinubu. So we are not worried about anyone leaving our party.”

Oborevwori vows Peter Obi will not win Delta State in 2027 election Meanwhile, Oborevwori has vowed that the presidential candidate of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Peter Obi will not win Delta State in the 2027 election.

The governor was quoted as saying this during an appearance on Arise Television Tuesday.

He stated that Obi would not win the state again during the 2023 election.

Oborevwori said Obi’s performance in 2023 was as a result of the support of the Christian community and non-indigenes especially members of the Igbo community.

But he said his administration had enhanced its relationship with the Igbo community in the state and was confident that they would support the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the coming elections.

“It’s not that the Igbo community voted against me in the governorship election, they have been working with my administration in the interest of the state,” he said.

“The religious leaders who supported my political move to APC prayed for the success of the decision and will continue to support the party in future elections, Oborevwori also said.

He said that the factors that aided Obi’s victory in Delta in the 2023 presidential election have been addressed, adding that he does not expect a repeat in 2027.

He said: “First and foremost, the Igbo community in Delta State that did that in 2023 they never did it during my election and we are on the same page.

“I’ve told them vote party this time. Because of the love they have for me, they will not vote candidates, they will vote party.

“I have that confidence they will vote APC.

There are two factors that happen the other time, the Christian community and the Igbo, the non indigenous, but I’ve been able to manage them. The Igbo and I are collaborating for the benefit of the state.

“I also believe that what happened that time will not happen again.

“This is because the religious leaders, before I move into the APC, we notified them to pray for us. So you can’t swear and pray. They have prayed.

“So when the time comes for election, I will still go back to them, say, “fathers of faith, when I moved the other time, you prayed for us. “Pray again that we shall be victorious, that we may succeed.” That’s all there is to it.

Soludo, the head of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) in Nigeria, has publicly backed Tinubu, saying that “progressives are working together.”

Senator Emma Anosike, the APC state chairman, said at a press conference on Friday that Soludo’s claims that his administration is working with Tinubu are not true.

He said that Soludo was lying to the President so that he could keep getting favors from him at the federal level while still working against the APC in the state.

Anosike said that Soludo has not made the APC feel like they are part of his government or given them any breathing room. Instead, he “goes about to claim that he’s working with Tinubu” and his party, the APC.

The APC chairman spoke to reporters right after the newly elected state officers of the party were sworn in. He told party members to get ready for the 2027 general elections and that he would give them all the help they need to win.

“If we’re going to work together, you have to work for Mr. President. So we need to send our first 11 to the National Assembly to help Mr. President.

“If you are working with Mr. President, you can’t come to the National Assembly with a different party.” The party leader said, “If you think you’re working together, let your progressives (APGA members) join APC, run for office in APC, and win.”

Anosike also told Soludo to officially join the APC to back up his claims that he was working with President Tinubu. This made it clear that his government would not allow things to go on as usual.

According to reports, Hashim sent a letter dated April 4, 2026, to the PDP Chairman of Usuma Ward in the Federal Capital Territory’s Bwari Area Council, announcing his resignation and indicating that it will take effect immediately.

The former PDP Deputy National Publicity Secretary said in the letter that the party had been embroiled in a protracted crisis for more than a year, which had caused opposing groups to arise inside its structure.

He characterized the circumstance as a significant blow to the party’s cohesion and efficacy as an opposition platform.

He claimed that the PDP has been divided into two dominating factions as a result of “persistent and unending crises.”

Hashim revealed that he and other party members had made multiple attempts to mend fences and bring the party back together.

He bemoaned the failure of the reconciliation efforts to end the crisis, nevertheless. According to him, the party’s cohesiveness and power as a national political force have been damaged by the persistent divisions.

The former PDP leader claimed that the party’s internal strife seemed to be partially planned to reduce its prospects in the run-up to the national elections in 2027.

He claimed that the circumstances might make it impossible for the PDP to field qualified candidates or turn it into a mere backer of the current administration.

He declared, “I cannot, in good conscience, be complicit in actions that undermine democratic values.”

Hashim went on to say that it would be a betrayal of his personal beliefs to stay in such a political setting.

The politician also voiced alarm about Nigeria’s current socioeconomic state, pointing to the nation’s widespread economic suffering, insecurity, and fatalities.

He claimed that staying in a political system that seems to justify the existing state of affairs would be at odds with his values.

Hashim called the PDP’s current situation “disappointing,” attributing its decline from what he described as a once-powerful political party to internal conflicts and selfish ambitions.

He declared that he will now collaborate with other patriotic Nigerians to avoid the formation of a one-party state and assist in the establishment of a new political system that prioritizes economic growth, justice, and security.

Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso’s defection to the African Democratic Congress (ADC) will drastically alter the opposition picture ahead of the 2027 general elections, according to veteran journalist and former presidential adviser Reuben Abati.
Speaking on Arise Television’s The Morning Show on Tuesday, Abati pointed out that Kwankwaso’s action, together with that of his New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) supporters, has strengthened the ADC and established it as a coalition platform for important opposition individuals.

With 44 local government areas and a sizable voter base, Abati highlighted Kano State’s strategic significance in presidential elections, characterizing it as a crucial battleground alongside Lagos and Rivers states.

He went on to say that Kwankwaso, a powerful political figure in Kano, would have a big impact on the 2027 election after his defection.

However, the analyst questioned the ADC’s internal dynamics, especially in relation to the party’s presidential ticket.

He pointed out that Kwankwaso had long declared his desire to be president and asked if he would win the party’s ticket, become a running partner, or join a larger political coalition.

Abati also brought up the persistent rumors that Kwankwaso and Obi would form an alliance, raising concerns about how this might impact former vice president Atiku Abubakar’s status in the party.

“Dr. Rabiu Kwankwaso has now moved to the ADC with his NNPP and Kwankwansiya supporters,” he declared.

As a result of that effort, the ADC has become stronger and currently includes a number of prominent opposition personalities. Peter Obi is present. Rotimi Amaechi is there. Atiku Abubakar is also present.

“And Kano, as I’ve stated previously on this platform, is a very important platform in Nigerian elections. You are referring to forty-four local government councils. You are referring to a sizable percentage of voters.

“If you want to be president in this country, you have to win certain states. Among them are Lagos, Rivers, and Kano.

The most well-known politician in Kano State today has joined the ADC.

He was meant to become a member of the APC. We were informed that discussions had place, but his godson—the state’s governor—joined the APC ahead of him.

In 2027, Kano State will be a significant battlefield. But Dr. Kwankwaso has consistently stated that he aspires to be Nigeria’s president.

Would they issue him the ticket now? Will he end up being someone else’s running mate? People have been referring to him as “PitaKwa” 2027, implying that he will serve as Peter Obi of the ADC’s running partner. Is that going to work?

Will that actually happen? What does that mean for Waziri Adamawa? Will Atiku Abubakar, our former vice president, do the same and permit “Pitakwa” to join the ADC?

“So we’re just seeing the early moments of the drama, and there’s going to be a lot of drama, either from the politicians themselves or from the entertainment”.

On Monday, the Appeal Court in Abuja rejected the appeal filed by the PDP group led by Taminu Turaki.

Additionally, the Court affirmed the ruling of the Federal High Court in Abuja, which on October 31, 2025, prohibited the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) from acknowledging the results of the PDP’s 2025 National Convention.

Iroegbu insisted that the PDP cannot be an extension of the ruling APC when responding to questions on ARISE Television’s “Prime Time” program.

“The PDP will not turn into an APC appendage,” he declared. The head of a PDP faction has declared his support for the APC administration. They ought to move into the APC without hesitation.

“You can support whoever you want, but you can’t be here and there. That’s not a problem.

The problem is that. This kind of political shenanigans has been made possible by our system. That’s depressing.

However, as I mentioned earlier, the ruling today did not support our position, but it also did not uphold the illegality known as the “Caretaker Committee” because you cannot put anything on nothing.

The suspension of the group that established the Caretaker Committee was upheld by the Appeal Court today.

“The Caretaker Committee was established during that period of suspension.

“So, how can anyone claim that you are continuing with your so-called Caretaker Committee after receiving confirmation that their suspension is in effect?”

The former governor of Kano State has not and will not alter his position on the matter, according to the NNPP.

Ladipo Johnson, the national publicity secretary, signed a statement that read, “This is a terrible lie and a clear example of a shameful and obvious falsehood coming from people who clearly have no sense of right and wrong and are completely without any conscience.”

According to a report released on Tuesday night, Kwankwaso is now in favor of Governor Yusuf and other elected NNPP members joining the APC.

According to reports, he revealed his new position in a brief video message uploaded on Facebook on Tuesday by Saifullahi Hassan, his media assistant.

According to a quote, Kwankwaso was aware that some NNPP members with appointed or elected positions in the state were being pressured to join the APC.

But according to Johnson’s statement, “it has become clear that people who want to leave the party have ‘no self worth’ if they feel they have to lie to the public about Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso’s position.”

“It is as immature and pathetic as it gets to purposefully mislead people into believing he is in favor of their impending action.

If these individuals choose to leave the party, we politely request that they do so. Go ahead if you have the backing of those around you and believe you are headed toward better chances.

“Do not attempt to deceive others into believing you have Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso’s support or approval.”

To be clear, Johnson stated that the former governor of Kano State has criticized certain members of the Kwankwasiyya and the NNPP, particularly those under the leadership of Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, for violating the confidence and accountability that the people of Kano State have placed in him.

According to him, the former governor wishes to ease the state’s current political unrest.

Additionally, he said that those who are being coerced or coerced into joining the defection campaign have to have the freedom to quit.

“By God’s grace, the elections in 2027 will pass, and those who chose to betray trust will face the judgment of the people of Kano,” he declared.

The APC State Secretary, Ibrahim Zakari Sarina, stated in an interview with Daily Trust that the party has completed all preparations for the governor’s defection. In order to determine the timing of the official move, he continued, the APC was seeking confirmation from the Presidency.

“We are currently waiting for the Presidency to set a date, and we have completed all arrangements to receive Governor Yusuf and other political figures,” Sarina said.

Sarina stated that the development of the party’s ongoing electronic membership registration and the party’s future direction were the main topics of discussion during the most recent APC stakeholders’ meeting. In advance of the general elections in 2027, he characterized the registration process as an extra benefit for the party.

Sarina stressed that the party was not against Governor Yusuf’s possible defection and, in fact, welcomed the development, even though it was brought up during the meeting.

“Of course, the subject came up, but not much was spoken about the defection. We have nothing against it. He emphasized that the party’s top goal was to fortify its base and get ready for upcoming electoral successes. “In fact, we are happy,” he stated.

Sarina reaffirmed that every action that fortifies the party is appreciated, especially because the APC is still concentrating on winning elections at all levels.

“We are searching for any addition to our fold.” At the end of the day, winning elections is the ultimate goal, Sarina continued.

Sarina further mentioned that the APC will not put pressure on Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso, the head of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), to join.

Sarina supported the notion if the former governor of Kano ever made the decision to join the party, even if she acknowledged that Kwankwaso appeared reluctant in doing so.

It appears like Kwankwaso is uninterested, and that’s okay. He’s welcome if he chooses to come,” Sarina remarked.

Sarina issued a warning, though, saying that internal conflicts and splits within the APC would not be tolerated. He claimed that tensions and disputes frequently resulted from Kwankwaso’s prior political involvement.

“Crisis is the only thing we want from him. He’s the kind of person who needs tension and a crisis wherever he goes,” Sarina said.

Sarina also downplayed worries that Kwankwaso’s power may undermine the APC or the political atmosphere in Kano. He emphasized that the APC would maintain its strong grasp on power at the federal level and would not permit any individual to undermine its unity.

“I don’t think he will have much influence to destabilize anything with the government at the center,” Sarina continued.

While Chief Alex Ahamuefula, the Ward Chairman, gave the former governor the membership card, Prince Obinna Opara, the Ward Secretary, completed the registration.

Ihedioha stated that his decision to join the ADC was thoughtful and based on the party’s tenets of accountability, unambiguous ideals, and service to the people in a statement made soon after his registration.

He asserts that responsive administration and leadership that puts the public interest first are necessary for both Imo State and Nigeria.

“Our people want leaders that are attentive, helpful, and prioritize the general good over individual interests. He declared, “I am certain that the ADC offers a reliable platform to pursue these goals.”

The former governor stated that his decision to register at the ward level demonstrated his dedication to inclusive participation and grassroots politics.

Hon. Jonathan Egbule, Chairman of the Aboh-Mbaise Local Government Area, and Evangelist Dr. Obi Nwaigwe, Mayor of Mbutu, were among the community leaders, stakeholders, and party leaders who attended the registration event.

The ADC’s National Vice Chairman (South-East), Sir Bon Unachukwu; Deputy Diaspora Coordinator, Maigari Bello Kasimu; and Coordinator of the Nigerian Former Legislators Forum, Uko Nkole, were among the national officials in attendance.

Ihedioha’s admission to the ADC, according to Unachukwu, significantly raised the party’s profile in the South-East and nationwide.

He stated, “The ADC is happy to welcome a former governor and seasoned public servant whose entry will strengthen the party’s appeal.”

Prof. James Okoroma, the Imo State Chairman of the ADC, escorted State Executive Committee members to accept Ihedioha and observe the registration.

On behalf of the party, Okoroma welcomed him and said that the former governor’s choice had reinforced the ADC’s commitment to internal democracy and grassroots mobilization in Imo State.

George warned PDP stakeholders in an interview with The Guardian that running Atiku will ensure again another defeat in the upcoming general election.
According to reports, the PDP chieftain chastised Atiku for excluding the South from the upcoming 2023 presidential election. He claimed that this caused animosity within the party and sparked the G-6 governors, led by former Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike, to rebel against the PDP’s nominee.
Atiku is not looking out for the interests of the South. What does it say if the South-West received nothing while he was in charge and he even dared to offer us something in exchange for our rejection of the election? “What?” George asked.

If another Northerner were to get the PDP ticket in 2027, he added, it would be a smack in the face and an act of cheating.

According to Geroge, “I can guarantee you that no sane Southerner would fully support a Northern candidate in 2027.” I shall never do that until 2031, when the eight years must have passed in the South.

George: Without PDP, Obi Cannot Win
In reference to Peter Obi, the 2023 presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP), George said that only the PDP could fulfill Obi’s aspirations.

“I don’t have anything against Obi,” the PDP leader stated. In actuality, the Labour Party lacks the national organization necessary to oppose Bola Tinubu and the All Progressives Congress (APC) in 2027, despite his Southern origins.

“Only the PDP possesses the strength, support, and taproot necessary to defeat the APC.” Also, I don’t think it will be as simple for Tinubu to be re-elected as some people think. Only if the PDP leaders act morally and uphold justice, equity, and fairness will he be defeated in 2027.

urges Wike to make amends with the PDP
Additionally, George fervently pleaded with Nyesom Wike to change his mind about opposing the PDP.

“You should let the national interest take precedence over your personal suffering, even though you and others may have been harmed,” he urged. We have to work together to rebuild Nigeria.

In his criticism of the Federal Government’s meddling in state politics, the PDP mainstay warned that if caution is not taken, its meddling in the affairs of Lagos, Rivers, and Osun States, as well as the Emirate struggle in Kano, might turn into a national security crisis.

It is risky for the federal government to get involved in these states’ affairs too much. He said, “It is a sign that could lead to bigger instability in the country.”

George said that Nigeria must adopt true federalism and stressed the necessity of constitutional reforms as a long-term solution to the country’s problems.

George went on, “Resolving the fundamental flaws in the 1999 Constitution is the ultimate solution to the myriad of problems confronting Nigeria.” Nigeria must be reorganized in order to attain true federalism.
