This was contained in a statement issued by the committee’s chairman, Elder Kayode Ogunbiyi and secretary, Barrister Desmond Agbo on Friday.

The action, the committee said, was necessary after what it said was repeated conduct that could create disaffection in the party.

The committee said the resolution was taken at a meeting held on Tuesday, 26th of May, 2026 during which petitions against some party leaders and members bordering on anti-party activities and violation of the PDP constitution were considered.

The committee also disclosed that it considered the party’s previous disciplinary action against Chief Olabode George by the party’s National Executive Committee, NEC, saying he is still suspended as earlier pronounced.

It said it also considered cases involving members accused of defecting to other political parties or engaging in unauthorised collaborations against the PDP.

Those affected by the suspension include Chief (Mrs.) Aduke Maina, Dr. Abimbola Ogunkelu, Mr. Laja Adeoye, Capt. Tunji Shele, Chief Sunday Olaifa, Mr. Gbenga Adegbesan, Hon. Rita Orji, H.E. Mrs. Kofoworola Bucknor, Chief (Mrs) Onikepo-Oshodi and Mrs. Idera Sodipo.

Others are Prince Adedipe Dauda Ewenla, Hon. Bode Ogundipe, Hon. Aminu Suleiman, Dr. (Mrs.) Roli George, Dr. Adetokunbo Pearse, Mr. Adeyemi Moyegun, Chief Taiwo Kuye, Mrs. Coker, Hon. Setonji Koshoedo, Alhaji Muritala Ashorobi, Mr. Dare, Dr. Amos Alabi Fawole and Hon. Olumuyiwa Owodara Richard.

The disciplinary committee also said all affected members are barred from participating in any PDP activities in Lagos State and can no longer represent the party in any capacity.

It also warned of legal action against any of the suspended members if they continued to act in a manner contrary to the interests of the party.

“Our committee has advised that stringent legal procedures be initiated against any of the suspended persons who continue to act against the interest of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Lagos State,” the statement said.

Nnaji reportedly passed the faction’s governorship screening process, which took place in Abuja on Thursday.

Ahmed Makarfi, a former governor of Kaduna State and national chairman of the PDP, presided over the screening committee.

In addition to Nnaji, businessman Samson Nnamani was also vetted and approved to run in Enugu State’s upcoming PDP governorship primary.

Nnaji’s clearance occurs in spite of a purported certificate fabrication issue involving his National Youth Service Corps and degree, according to Premium Times.

Days after news of the controversy surfaced, the former minister resigned from office in October 2025.

Clearing of group defects
Defence for Democracy, a civil society organization, reacted by criticizing the PDP group for Nnaji’s clearance.

Emeka Nwachukwu, the group’s national president, said in a statement that by clearing him, the party ran the risk of hurting its chances in the Enugu governorship election.

The group stated, “The people of Enugu State deserve leaders whose records can withstand public scrutiny without fear or controversy.”

“Therefore, we find it odd that people can transition from controversy to ambition without addressing the questions hanging over their names,” the statement continued.

The organization claimed that the accusation created moral concerns about integrity and public confidence and called on the PDP national leadership to step in.

Additionally, it suggested that Nnaji clear his record before attempting to become governor.

The challenge followed Wike’s earlier in the week monthly media chat where he asked the Turaki-led group to prove its authenticity by operating transparently.

The minister also threatened to close down any building used by the faction for its activities.

The Cable quoted the former PDP Deputy National Publicity Secretary and private principal secretary to Turaki, Ibrahim Abdullahi, as saying the faction already has a temporary office.

“If he can, let Wike take over the office. He knows where it is,” he said.

“We have been running an office,” Abdullahi said. He knows where it is. He ought to go there and take possession of the office, if he can.

“It is an interim office but we are having meetings and doing our functions.

“The crisis that is rocking the PDP is escalating and pushing the country to what I call a Hobbesian state of anarchy where life is brutish, short and nasty,” he warned.

Wike lambasted by Ememobong
The spokesperson of the Turaki faction, Ini Ememobong, however, called Wike’s threat delusional.

He said the PDP maintains party accounts, which the FCT minister was aware of.

Ememobong said: “His delusional claim that he can handle banks that will open accounts for us is delusional, because he already knows that we are running the party’s accounts, which is why his group of friends are receiving money through private accounts.”

Umar Sani, a chieftain of the PDP faction, said Wike knows the office in the vicinity of Area 10, Abuja, when he spoke on Thursday, and challenged the FCT Minister to carry out the demolition of the building as threatened.

Recall that Wike had threatened during his monthly media chat on Wednesday to seal off any house in Abuja being used as the headquarters of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) by the faction led by Taminu Turaki.

Wike also warned that any bank that allows the Turaki-led PDP to open an account for the sale of nomination forms for the 2027 election would be in trouble.

Any effort by the Turaki faction to sell form to any aspirant for the 2027 polls will be a duping of Nigerians, he said.

Wike boasted that any day Turaki opens a bank account for the PDP under the present circumstance, he will be derobed as a Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN).

However, Sani, who spoke during an interview with Arise News on Thursday, alleged that the Wike-led PDP is selling nomination forms for cash and if they are using the PDP bank accounts, it will come straight to them.

He also said the PDP incorporation documents were with the PDP Board of Trustees (BOT) led by Adolphus Wabara, not the Wike-led PDP.

We have an office that we are running and it is in Area 10 (Abuja). Let him come and destroy the office. Wike knows the office,” he added.

According to reports, George stated that Wike’s actions are turning into a total disgrace and a source of shame for Nigerians in an interview with media in Lagos.

He urged Tinubu to summon Wike to order, emphasizing that although the INEC is aware that Wike and others lack the right to organize a national convention on behalf of the PDP, the President is the one controlling the entire scenario.

“This is Tinubu’s administration, not Wike’s,” he declared. Nigerians are watching from east to west and from north to south. The repercussions of a catastrophe will be intolerable. You say you’re a Democrat, and you want no one to run against you in 2027. Who carries that out? Is Nigeria a Banana Republic?

“How long? Now that Nigerians are aware of the reality, the nation is in a state of graveyard silence. Wike’s actions are turning into a cause of shame and utter embarrassment for the decent citizens of this nation. Speaking as though he is the Commander-in-Chief is utterly insane.

Without Mr. President’s support, Wike could not possibly be acting in such a power-drunk manner. The fact that the president still permits Wike to act in this manner demonstrates his poor historical comprehension.

“Everyone recalls the cover that Prime Minister Abubakar Tafawa-Balewa gave to some of the personalities utilized in the First Republic to demolish that era, but nobody talks about them again.

“Mr. President, you will bear your cross by yourself when the excrement hits the fan. The way Wike is handling your alleged enemies and attempting to dismantle opposition parties may make you pleased right now, but the outcome won’t be pleasant.

“Any crisis in Nigeria will have an impact on all of Africa.” Where are the anti-democracy groups that brought down the first, second, and third republics now? I hope Nigeria doesn’t blow up with a character like Wike.

“I can reassure the President, INEC, and the judiciary that Nigeria is greater than them and that Nigerians will no longer put up with this power-drunk Minister who wasn’t even born when the Western Region crisis began in 1962.”

George went on to compare the scenario to the biblical voice of Jacob and the hand of Esau, pointing out that Wike, the presidency, and the All Progressives Congress (APC) are all committing grave mistakes.

“They mistakenly believe that the PDP’s approach to normalcy and constitutionalism is foolish,” he said. Nigeria is the reason we are cool, collected, and at ease. The Constitution is being violated in every way by these individuals. Nigerians are intelligent. They are observing.

“You can see the hand of APC and Presidency in every crisis across political parties,” the elder statesman said, insisting that Wike was no longer a PDP member. They oppose Bola Tinubu being challenged in 2027 by a presidential candidate from another party. They are squandering their time.

“Wike claimed to be in charge of a PDP faction. Which group? He is no longer a party member. Last November, during our convention in Ibadan, he was ejected. He wasn’t alone. Along with him, other characters were banished. As of right now, they have been expelled. Therefore, his use of Federal Government agents to intimidate Nigerians from Abuja to Rivers while claiming to speak on behalf of a PDP group is absurd. He is no longer a member of our group.

According to reports, one of the main obstacles to the reconciliation could be that the Wike-backed group wants President Bola Tinubu to serve a second term outright, while the camp of Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde, led by Kabiru Turaki, has promised to field a strong candidate for the presidency in 2027.

The Wike faction had insisted that the PDP would not run a presidential candidate in the upcoming election, and there are rumors that they would insist on Tinubu’s endorsement from Turaki’s camp in order to make amends.

Ememobong, however, stated in an interview on Arise News’ The Morning Show that while the faction might not support Tinubu, he was hopeful that a compromise will be reached.

He said that in the 2027 election, the PDP would offer candidates at every level of participation.

Ememobong stated, “The truth is that both hope and delusion are human emotions, and at the end of the day, it is the result that determines which was hope and which was delusion,” in response to the statement that reconciliation may appear delusional at this time given the variables at play.

We might not support the President, I can assure you. As you can see, when you are a leader, you are listening to the people you are in charge of. We are delegators of power, and we are listening to the delegators who gave us the authority to take action.

The representatives of authority have now pleaded, “Look, can we at least get to the table?” You bring your reducible minimums to the table. One of the conditions of the deal we will accept if peace is required is that candidates will be fielded at all times.

Additionally, we will offer a strong candidate for president. We are open to reconciliation when we go to the discussion table, but we must remain an opposition party.

Recall that Lamido had appealed the National Convention’s decision to the Federal High Court in Abuja.

In order to run for the party’s national leadership, Lamido claimed the court that he was not permitted to exercise his fundamental rights.

But in an appearance with Arise Television’s Morning Show, Sani claimed Lamido only expressed interest in running for the job on the day the applications were due.

Sani claims that Lamido also purchased the form at Wadata House rather than the Legacy House, the party’s annex.

Sani emphasized that the party believed the court had made a mistake by ignoring them.

“These are the issues we are trying to formulate to the Supreme Court, if necessary, that some of these things and some of the arguments we have put forward to the Court of Appeal were not taken into consideration by the Court of Appeal,” he stated.

“They failed to consider the merits of our case and the reasons behind our choices in the Sule Lamido case. It is evident that Lamido arrived to purchase forms on the day that the completed forms were supposed to be returned, and the party had already arranged for the sale of forms under the Convention Planning Committee, whose headquarters were located in the Legacy House, our other office.

On the last day to submit applications, Lamido went to Wadata Plaza to buy a form. Even with that argument, we believed that the court had made a mistake by not paying attention to what we had to say.

“You know, the court did not rule that we shouldn’t proceed with the convention even at that point. They suggested that we set up a room so that Lamido could attend the convention. Therefore, we felt that allowing him to participate when he hasn’t even received a form goes against the party’s constitution and standing rules. The court has stated that all decisions should be based on our constitution, but it ignores this crucial component.

“Therefore, we believed that the Supreme Court should decide these matters.”

According to reports, Fayose threatened to provide further details about Atiku’s meeting in Minna if his assistant didn’t take down a remark about him.

Ibe, however, questioned if the 48-hour deadline was excessive in a statement on 𝕏.

He was disappointed that Fayose couldn’t tell the difference between himself and Phrank Shaibu.

Ibe retorted that it merely demonstrates that Fayose’s stories are genuinely inspired by some old liquors.

Ibe went on to say that he doesn’t require the services of a witch doctor to speculate on the source of his aged beverage supplies.

A representative for Atiku sympathized with Fayose and asked the former governor to get back to him if he regains his composure before the 48-hour recuperation period.

“Despite Peter Ayodele Fayose’s incapacity to distinguish between Ambassador Phrank Shaibu and my modest self (Paul Ibe), I am not disappointed in him.

“Sir, you would have noticed that Amb. Shuaibu, not Ibe, was the author of the declaration captioned “Peter Ayodele Fayose’s Beer Parlour Tales Of Infamy.” Is there a chance that you were reading it while intoxicated?

Is forty-eight hours too long, Haba? He remarked mockingly, “Is it the 40-year-old whiskey or did you take a more aged version that takes longer than 48 hours to ‘clear’ from your eyes?”

Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chieftain Chief Bode George has strongly criticized former Vice President Atiku Abubakar for visiting former President Muhammadu Buhari in Kaduna, describing the move as divisive and ill-conceived.

Speaking during an interview on Arise Television’s Morning Show on Tuesday, George expressed displeasure over what he called a secretive attempt by Atiku to forge a political coalition without first consulting PDP leadership. He labelled the meeting with Buhari as inappropriate and questioned its relevance to PDP’s future.

“Why meet Buhari? Is he a PDP member? You don’t take major decisions like forming a mega party without discussing it with the party,” George stated. “PDP is not anyone’s private company. You don’t just flip-flop because of your personal ambition.”

Atiku, who has been pushing for a mega opposition coalition to challenge President Bola Tinubu in 2027, was accompanied during the visit by former Kaduna State Governor Nasir el-Rufai, former Sokoto State Governor Aminu Tambuwal, and other northern political figures.

Reacting to the move, George suggested that the coalition appears to be one-sided, dominated by northern interests, and could further fragment the country’s political landscape. “Is this an attempt to divide Nigeria along regional lines? Where are the other voices from the South?” he asked.

George urged PDP members nationwide to remain united and resist the temptation to join what he termed “a coalition driven by personal ambition.” He emphasized that party members must work together to reposition the PDP for 2027 instead of fueling internal divisions.
