Terrorists Ambush, Kill Three Immigration Officers at Kebbi Border

Three Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) officials were reportedly slain by Islamic State in the Sahel Province (ISSP) terrorists, also known as Lakurawa, at the Bakin Ruwa Immigration checkpoint in Kebbi State’s Bagudu Local Government Area.

The terrorists set fire to the immigration trucks and took the officers’ weapons and ammo when they attacked them at their duty position at around 11 p.m., according to Peoples Gazette.

Ande Jerry, Audu Hudu, and an immigration officer known only as Abbas Major were among the cops slain.

It was discovered that the Department of State Service (DSS) had previously notified the NIS and other security agencies of the Lakurawa terrorist group’s planned attacks on security outposts or bases at Kamba and Bagudu LGAs in Kebbi State.

According to additional intelligence, terrorists are specifically targeting NIS and NCS locations, purportedly in order to steal weapons and use them to continue their act of terror. The intelligence report that The Gazette revealed came from the SSS stated, “In light of the above, it is advised that extra vigilance be exercised, aimed at denying them freedom of action and frustrating their evil intention, please.”

The NIS has not yet released a statement about the event, which occurred more than twenty-four hours after three of the service’s officers were killed.

Immigration sources revealed to the aforementioned platform that the Kebbi event was not the only violent assault that had claimed the lives of their coworkers in recent months.

“This is not the first time that terrorists are attacking and killing Immigration and Customs officers at the borders, and our bosses, especially the CG, are not saying or doing anything about it,” the source stated.

“Almost all of our checkpoints are occasionally attacked by terrorists. In recent months, they have attacked and killed our officers at the borders and checkpoints in the North-West, North-East, North-Central, South-East, and South-South. Our borders to the southwest appear to be the only ones secure.
