Chief Priest, also known as Okechukwu Pascal, is a well-known Nigerian socialite and nightlife entrepreneur who has joined the growing chorus of people calling on President Bola Tinubu to put a halt to public grazing in the wake of the disastrous Benue State massacre.
According to reports, in an Instagram post, the famous bartender urged Tinubu to act quickly and ban open grazing anywhere in the nation.
As a safer and more sustainable option, he emphasized the value of ranching.
Adding that self-defense is not illegal, Chief Priest further exhorted the Benue people to put their safety first.
“My President, give that order now!” he wrote. Stop grazing in public areas. The amount of harm inflicted is severe. The lunacy must end. Fill your ranches with food for your animals. Sharpen your sword, Benue man ♔️. Don’t let anyone to kpai you. Protecting oneself is not a crime!

As for the Federal Government, Tinubu has promised that if land-grabbing is shown to be the cause of the frequent attacks in Benue State, especially the most recent tragedy in Yelwata, it will be addressed directly.
Nigeria must cease the violence that has killed hundreds of people and uprooted entire communities, Tinubu said Wednesday during a town hall meeting with stakeholders in Makurdi, the capital of Benue State.
Apparently, the president said, “We were not elected to have orphans and orphanages and to bury people.” Together, we will strive for peace.
The President ordered that land conflicts be handled holistically in light of the growing tension surrounding them.
