“They Cannot Continue Hobnobbing With Enemies Of Our Party” – Bode George Calls For Atiku, Wike To Leave PDP
Olabode George, a founding member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and a former Deputy National Chairman, has called on former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister Nyesom Wike to step down from the party immediately because of actions that are hurting the party’s unity and reputation.
In a highly written statement, George expressed his displeasure with what he called “blatant fraternization” between the two and the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), pointing out that the PDP is still being tarnished by their activity.
George wondered why key players like Atiku and Wike were siding with the opposition while being PDP members, following the internal turmoil that had shaken the party.
What precisely is happening?” he inquired. Anyone who has grown weary of the PDP ought to quit and join another party. This embarrassment must end. Being a founding elder of this party, I will not stand by and watch as some openly disparage the party. That isn’t feasible.
“General Muhammadu Buhari (retd) remains my boss but he is not a member of our party,” George said, explicitly criticizing Atiku’s recent visit to former President Muhammadu Buhari in Kaduna. What is Atiku’s political scheming, then? Is he not already guilty of an anti-party offense?
He also cited a public declaration made by President Bola Tinubu, in which Tinubu allegedly instructed Wike to guarantee an APC win in the elections for the FCT council.
George stated, “President Bola Tinubu informed Wike the other day that the APC needed to win the FCT council election, and he agreed.”
“Wike has been given a direct order to win FCT for APC and he still claims to be a member of the PDP,” he said, denouncing Wike’s reply. Are individuals no longer so politically shameless that they lack moral integrity? Is our party’s leadership somewhere? For what reason do they tolerate Wike and Atiku? For what reason are they permitting the pair to publicly humiliate our gathering?
The problem is becoming worse, George warned, with several governors now allegedly supporting Tinubu’s possible reelection campaign. Some governors are already joining them in endorsing Tinubu’s 2027 reelection. Once more, may I inquire what is happening in our party? Have the dogs become less disciplined? Has everything totally collapsed? Does the way we currently operate the party reflect sanity?
Despite what he described as the APC’s one-man supremacy, he insisted that the PDP is still the only organized and functional political party in Nigeria, saying, “Nigerians are yearning for change, which only the PDP can offer because ours is the only organized party.” Do you know anyone else in the APC NWC besides Ganduje? The Villa controls the one-man show that is APC.
“This is the time for the national leadership of PDP to take decisive steps to save our great party,” George implored the party’s leadership.
He went on, “As an elder statesman and a founding member of our party, I call on other elders of our party to call Atiku and Wike to order, as the two are not bigger than the PDP.” *
“They can’t keep mingling with our party’s enemies and expect me to remain silent,” George said, saying he would not keep quiet. Without regard to whose ox is gored, the truth must always be said.
In his statement, “Now is the time to save our party from those undermining PDP from within,” he emphasized the necessity of ridding the party of internal operatives.

George said of Atiku’s purported future political plans: “If Atiku is planning how to organize a coalition with others due to 2027, he should do that outside of our party’s structure.” You can’t be inside this party and be working against their interests. That is not something we will tolerate.
“Wike’s case is very clear to everybody,” he remarked. He works against our party in an attempt to acquire Tinubu’s favor. He’s an adult and understands what’s best for him politically, but you can’t be a PDP member and be working against the party’s interests.
“A lot of people are unaware that the actions of Wike in Rivers, which resulted in the declaration of emergency rule on March 18, are anti-party activities,” he continued.
He does live interviews with television stations under the guise of the president while disparaging the PDP. If he still harbors any guilt, it is the time for him to depart from our gathering.
His plan is to keep helping the president be reelected within the party.
“Nobody is more powerful than the party, so now is the time for our party leadership to handle the big stick.”
George came to the conclusion that the PDP would be stronger after firing internal dissidents: “As an opposition party, we will be in a formidable position to take over power from APC at the federal level in 2027, the moment we remove the liabilities in our party.”
Bode George on the National Situation
He next addressed domestic concerns, denouncing the security and economic conditions under the APC: “Nigerians are suffering greatly as a result of the APC’s anti-people policies, and they are looking to the PDP to ease their burden in 2027.”
Concerning insecurity, George said, “The land has been overtaken by insurgency, insurgency, kidnappings, murders, and corruption.” What is Tinubu doing specifically as Commander-in-Chief to buck this undesirable trend?
Does the manner of killings in Plateau and Benue make sense? Former presidents and influential figures should speak out against the drifting nation. We must not go on in this manner.
He also questioned bank executives about their role in the nation’s financial crisis, stating that they ought to support the general welfare: “There is a practice known as round-tripping.” Fraudulent charges, disguised charges, and insider abuse are also present. The target of all of these is Nigerians. Bank MDs in the US, UK, Canada, Germany, UAE, and other countries are not seen on private jets every other day.
Our bank MDs here own private aircraft in addition to chartering them. Where do they find the money to sustain this kind of lifestyle and luxury?
