The nomination of Nwakuche Ndidi as the Nigerian Correctional Service’s Acting Controller-General has been authorized by President Bola Tinubu.
The Civil Defense, Correctional, Fire, and Immigration Board’s Secretary, Ja’afaru Ahmed, said in a statement issued on Friday that Ndidi’s appointment will formally start on December 15, 2024.
He was appointed after Haliru Nababa, the current Comptroller General, finished his term.
“The appointment of Nwakuche Sylvester Ndidi as Acting Controller-General of the Nigerian Correctional Service after Haliru Nababa’s tenure expires has been graciously approved by President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR,” the announcement adds. He will be appointed on December 15, 2024.

Nwakuche is from Oguta in Imo State and was born on November 26, 1966. He oversaw the Training and Staff Development Directorate as the Deputy Controller-General prior to his appointment. He is a member of the Federal Republic, a national honor, and a fellow of the esteemed National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies.
