Kumasi, Ghana – May 11, 2025 | President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has been conferred with the prestigious Lifetime African Achievement Award by the Millennium Excellence Foundation, a Ghana-based institution renowned for celebrating exceptional contributions to African development.
The award was presented during the 25th anniversary of the Millennium Excellence Prize in Kumasi, Ghana, where Tinubu was represented by the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Bianca Odumegwu-Ojukwu, as the Special Guest of Honour.
In his acceptance remarks, President Tinubu expressed gratitude to Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, the Asantehene, for the invitation and lauded the Foundation’s commitment to honour, integrity, service, and excellence.
“I salute the visionaries who have nurtured this institution for a quarter of a century and celebrate the values that underpin its work,” Tinubu said.
He praised the Foundation for spotlighting Africa’s finest achievers, including Archbishop Desmond Tutu, Prof. Wole Soyinka, President Cyril Ramaphosa, and Dr Mo Ibrahim, and charged African youth to embrace bold initiatives that promote unity, peace, and prosperity.
The president emphasized the importance of African contributions in fields such as science, technology, education, governance, and entrepreneurship, urging for cross-border collaboration and leadership driven by service.
