At the State House in Abuja on Friday, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu met separately and in private with the governors of the states of Kaduna, Benue, and Cross River.
According to reports, they met us in the middle of ongoing problems with governance and security in their areas.
Each of the three governors—Uba Sani from Kaduna, Hyacinth Alia from Benue, and Bassey Otu from Cross River—arrived separately to speak with the president.
The Presidency did not issue an official statement outlining the agenda, but people involved with the talks told The Nation that the three states’ pressing economic and security issues were the main topics of discussion.
The governors refused to talk to press after the meetings.
As they left the State House for their waiting cars, they gave reporters a quick welcome but said nothing.
