According to reports, President-elect Bola Tinubu and NNPP presidential candidate Rabiu Kwankwaso met in France.
According to reports, Kwankwaso’s ally Hon. Abdulmumin Jibrin, a member of the House of Representatives who defected from the All Progressives Congress (APC) to the NNPP months before the 2023 general elections, orchestrated the meeting that took place in the French capital of Paris.
According to information obtained, Tinubu and Kwankwaso, a former minister of defense, have continued their discussions about a government of unity.
It is also believed that Tinubu might mediate a settlement between Kwankwaso and Governor Abdullahi Ganduje, Kwankwaso’s successor.
Throughout Kwankwaso’s tenure, Ganduje served as his deputy, but the relationship between the two ended soon after the former was appointed Kano’s helmsman.
The NNPP leader described Tinubu as “a strategist” in July of last year, subtly endorsing him to become Nigeria’s next president.
Strategist Bola Tinubu is. From 1992 until the present, I had numerous occasions to sit with him. My only concern with that team (Tinubu-Shettima) is the platform (APC),” Kwankwaso remarked at the time.
